Singleton helps in ensuring that only one instance of the class exists. Factory pattern is used to create objects of the class without exposing the instantiation logic.
Factory method is one of creational design pattern. It's mainly used to create the objects which is decoupled from the actual implementing system. You can think it as an interface and the subclass giving an actual definition while implementing the interface.

Hi,

When not mentioned, the access specifier will be "default" also called "package private". As the name says, its visibility is only to same package level.

Are you trying to run a different program or modification in same program?
Try this.. It should fix the broken link

sudo rm /usr/local/bin/eclipse
sudo ln -s /opt/eclipse/eclipse /usr/local/bin/eclipse

sudo /opt/eclipse/eclipse -clean &
If you already have executable present in /opt/eclipse then try changing the access to it.

chmod +x /opt/eclipse/eclipse
Hi,

My bad, I didn't see the "manually" part of your question. Please check if you have eclipse executable in /opt/eclipse folder first. If you don't have search for the executable location and set the path as below.

Exec=/opt/eclipse/your_eclipse_executable_location
sudo ln -s /opt/eclipse/your_eclipse_executable_location

Hi,

Did you download Eclipse from Software Center on Ubuntu?
Hi,

The arraylist index starts from 0. Since you are adding 2 items to the list, it sits in al[0] and al[1]. But while performing al.get(), you are passing the arraylist size (which is 2 in this case) and hence its throwing IndexOutOfBoundsException.

Hi Ben,

Have you declared SuperArray class? Without class declaration you can't use it and I think thats the reason you are getting the error.

Thanks.

SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 Exam By Katherine Sierra, Bert Bates is a good book.
Hi John,

You can learn RCP, SWT/GWT. Since you have some experience in GUI, it will be easy for you.

Thanks,
