Hi,

I'm using WAS5 and MQ 5. I have an application that uses message driven beans and hence I have configured Message listeners in my application server. After the configuration I restarted the application server. The message listeners were not started and I found the following error in the SystemOut.log of the application server.

Do I have to restart the WAS server itself for the JMS listener changes to take effect? or is there anything wrong with the way I have configured the listeners!!!

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi,
I'm using a multi threaded program in my project. Once in a while I get an error which says SIGBUS error occured and the program closes. I'm not able to simulate it again to find out the reason. Can anyone tell me whats the reason for this error and how to fix it. Is it something to do with the stack allocation!!!
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I'm using jdk1.3 and oracle9i in sun os.
The character set of the database is set to ShiftJIS (also tried with UTF8). I'm able to store and retrieve katakana(japanese) values using sqlplus from a jp nt machine.. if I use jdbc to retrieve the values it is displayed as '?'. I've tried using getBytes also, it doesnt seem to work.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I'm using weblogic 6.1 and the row caching feature is on. When I try to get the data in bytes using ResultSet.getBytes(), I get a SQLException saying type convertion is unsupported if row caching is on.
Is there any way to control this programmatically, I mean is there any way to turn off row caching programmatically. Because I want row caching for all other prgms (connections)..
Thanks

Hi,
I have a doubt in Session Listener. Will the sessionDestroyed method in the SessionListener called even if the session gets inactivated itself based on the session timeout set in the web server.

Hi,
I'm using Websphere 3.5 in my project and we are using more number of entity beans and session beans, the common problem that we face is org.omg.CORBA_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK. We are not able to get the exact reason whenever it occurs if the bean's transaction attribute is set to TX_REQUIRED. If the transaction attribute is set to TX_SUPPORTS we get the actual ORACLE error message. How can we differentiate the various possible cases as, once the system goes live we should have the transaction attribute set to TX_REQUIRED. Is there any way of extracting the actual error message like 'INSERTED VALUE TOO LARTGE', 'DB CONSTRAINT' OR DB DOWN' from this exception. Please help
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I'm using Websphere 3.5 on Sun solaris, since yesterday I'm facing a problem in starting up an application server. We have 3 App servers in it and the other two seems to be working. I've tried restarting the Admin Server and even the Sun machine, but no use. Whenever I try to start the App Server, it takes a lot of time and finally comes out with this error message in the tracefile...

Hi,
The resultset is automatically closed if u execute the execute() in Statement or if u close the statement and statement is closed when it is garbage collected. But its a good programming practice to close these objects after use.

Hi,
You have to use JarInputStream for this. Follow the steps and u can easily read the file..
1) Create a JarInputStream for the jar file..
2) Get the ZipEntry from the stream and check for ur CV.doc.
3) Create a ZipFile and get the InputStream for the file by passing the ZipEntry to the getInputStream().
Hope u can proceed after this..
Best wishes.. lemme know if u get the job..
Cheers

Hi,
In my project I'm using entity beans and DAO's in all transaction modules. We are using ejb 1.0 and Websphere 3.5 and Oracle 8.1.7.
To rollback any transaction we use to throw remote exception from the session bean, but the data updated/inserted using DAO(sql statements) are not rollbacked if the Session Bean's Isolation level is set to READ_COMMITTED, but the database operations performed using entity beans are rolled back.
With REPEATABLE_READ all the operations, both by entity bean and DAO were rolled back. Does the change in isolation level affect the rollback of transactions?? Please clarify.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I'm using EJBs in my project, and I rarely get a "ORA-08177 Can't serialize for this transaction error". I'm using Websphere as my Appserver. Is there any setting in Websphere to handle this exception.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I'm using entity beans in my project, but we identified a peculiar problem in create methods. we have two create methods in a bean, one method inserts record with data in all the columns of the table and the other inserts with only mandatory fields. But if the method with all columns is called first from a session bean and then the second method is called from a different session bean.. the data of the old method gets inserted with this record..
We have a found work around for this problem. we have written a method resetValues().. which initializes all variables in the bean. All create methods calls this method and then sets value in the variables. This fix works, but we cant implement the strategy in all the beans.
We are using Websphere 3.5. Please help me to solve this problem.

hi,
If u are using jaxp.jar and DocumentParserFactory. I have a method of validating the document.
Just set the setValidating(true) for the DocumentParserFactory, once u apply parse() over the Parser object the document will be validated against the DTD and if u have any error a SAXParserException will be thrown.
Hope this helps u
cheers

hi,
I don't have much idea abt xml. For my project i'm using MQ Series. Message transfer is in the form of xml. I want to validate the xml that i get from the Queue before parsing it. I'm using jaxp.jar and SAX Parser to parse the xml. Even though I've set the setValidating(true) for the SAXParserFactory its not validating the document. But it works for DocumentParserFactory object.Help me solving it out.
Thanks
