I have a single build file in my Java project (called springapp). When I try to run a task by double-clicking the task in the Ant Perspective... I always get a popup asking me to "Choose an Ant configuration to run" and I'm given two options:

springapp build.xml
springapp build.xml [usage]

(usage is the default task)

Why is this popup coming up every time?
Do you have the links for go4java and JQuest?

Thanks..
I'm working through the appfuse tutorial, and I've come accross a
problem when trying to run the ant test-cactus -Dtestcase=PersonAction
(#6 on http://raibledesigns.com/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=ValidationAndList

I get a org.apache.cactus.util.ChainedRuntimeException: Failed to
authenticate the principal at... exception.

I think I've narrowed it down to the admin.username and
encryptedPassword defined in LoginServletTest.properties. By default,
the admin.username is "mraible" and the encryptedPassword is, well,
encrypted... so I'm not sure what it is.

Is this the admin username/password for tomcat or mysql? What do I
need to change them to, to be able to run the cactus' tests?

I'm running elcipse 2.1.3 on panther. works fine.

if you don't have a 2+ button mouse, hold down CTRL while you click.. that's the same as right-clicking.

Are you sure about that? It works without a hitch on my machine.
Here's the code straight from the build file I tested with. Everything in my ${deploy.home} directory is deleted (files, non-empty directories, and empty directories), but ${deploy.home} is not.

This works for me...

Has anyone used Ant for building other-language app's? I've gotten assigned to work on a small windows app written in C, and it'd be great if I could use Ant.

So then am I incorrect in thinking that loading the properties from the FileInputStream, doing the setProperty, and then storing the properties would just add a new property to the ones that already exist? I've loaded the properties from a file, and then stored them right back. Or so it seems like to me.
Maybe I'm just not following the unique name thing. Are you saying that the properties already in the file are getting cleared out because I'm trying to store properties with the same name... even though they're the same properties?
Just to make sure we're on the same page... before the sample code, my properties file is
propertyA=valueA
propertyB=valueB
What I expect in the file after the sample code is
propertyA=valueA
propertyB=valueB
propertyC=valueC
but insteaed I'm getting
propertyC=valueC

Yes.. I'm trying to write to the same file without changing the filename. I guess that answers my question, thanks.

Property files, using java.util.Properties...
I've got a properties file for a webapp that initially is created with two properties. I also need to be able to add additional properties to that file when a user performs a specific action, as well. So far, though, when I try to add a new property, the already-existing properties get overwritten. Is this not allowed?
Here's some code from when an additional property needs to be added. Any help is appreciated..

I've got two webapps that I need to "integrate".
One needs to be able to send a file to the other, and I'm doing that using the HttpURLConnection and sending the file as multipart form data. The webapp on the receiving end requires authentication by a login page.. to do anything.
Using HttpURLConnection, I never get to the login screen... and thus cannot process the data, nor anything else.

JSP
Is it possible to use HttpURLConnection to create a connection in a browser?
I've got pageA.jsp and pageB.jsp. pageA successfully creates a HttpURLConnection to pageB and does a few things. However, the browser itself never goes to pageB.

JSP
For anyone interested, the following looks very promising...
Jakarta Commons HttpClient
Jakarta Commons FileUpload

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would require one of them to be running an FTP server... to either download from, or upload to. Neither of which is a desireable scenario.

Also, it would be best if all of this could be done one the fly without having the file ever on either of the servers file system. It it were only one or two users using it, it wouldn't be a concern. But for scalability, I don't want either of the boxes have to create a file just to turn around and delete it... for every user.
Does this knock me out of the water?
