thanks for the reply,
the problem is ,the servlet(in server side) sends response to client servlet.In the client side it invokes a servlet for its purpose(with separate tomcat).The main problem for me is servlet on server side is not catching client side servlet.when i did this in lan it worked ,but outside systems its not working.
hi everyone,

LAN: in my lan my servlet is sending response to client & forwarding response .In my lan my server ipaddress is 192.168.5.90

clientaddress=request.getRemoteAddress();
response.sendRedirect("http://"+clinetaddress+":8080/readfile);

but went we webhosted the program is not working its giving a false ipaddress for client.
when webhosted my server ip changed 192.168.5.90 to 53.192.168.99 or so .when i started to see from out side system that is not in lan .The program didnot work ,actually clinet ipaddress is 192.168.6.88 but it gave like 202.44.80.9 can any one tell me what might be the problem thanks in advance
if you d't mind can you tell me more clearly

i added this in jsp for the sake of images :

response.setHeader("cache-control", "max-age=0, must-revalidate, no-cache, no-store, private"); // HTTP 1.1
response.setHeader("pragma", "no-cache"); // HTTP 1.0
response.setDateHeader("expires", -1); // Stop proxy caching

but no change same image in cache is displayed .Can you send me a piece of code how to address image from servlet .thanks in advance

JSP
thanks for the reply ,i tried in my jsp:

<%
response.setHeader( "Pragma", "no-cache" );
response.setHeader( "Cache-Control", "no-cache" );
response.setDateHeader( "Expires", 0 );
%>
<body>....
<img src="images/out.gif" width="75" height="75" ><br>

but the image is not expired .

i also used :
java.util.Date d=new java.util.Date();
long l=d.getTime()l
response.setDateHeader("Expires",l);

As the servlet is forwarding request to jsp ,i am unable to see wheather jsp is expired or not ,but mainly the image is not expired (indicating None)

thanks in advance

Hi everone ,Actually i am developing a project in MVC1 architecture .But i got a requirement that when client sends request to server through browser ,the code that is servlet (server) need to open ports of client system that sent the request (so i knew that applet is the one that helps)
do i need to place applet in client system(tomcat webapps) or do i need to place in server ? & which tomcat i need to start ?
