Hi Everybody,
Thanks to Javaranch I passed SCJP yesterday with 81%. Though the score is low I have absolutely no regrets. Being an Electrical Lecturer I was badly in need of SCJP certificate to make a switchover. I must admit that without javaranch, I would not have made it. I visited this forum almost once in every 5 hr. Explanations from the moderators are really clear and nice.
Regarding my Exam, it was just similar to mock exams. I got 4 filled in type questions.4 easy questions from I/O. Somewhat difficult and lengthy Qs from threads and many from Lang.fundamentals, loops and Strings.I too got Qs from the famous trio Sockets, Mediatracker and String append method. They were very basic and easy only.
As far as my preparations I used RHE(read it again and again), Khalid ,Marcus tutorials and Mahas discussion .I did all the Marcus mocks and couple of other mocks from Mahas site.
Of course I did a lot of codings too.
My advice to the future SCJP is this:
Read RHE ,Khalid and Marcus tutorials, take notes from Mahas discussion. Do Mocks and lot of codings.Visit javaranch daily(visit javaranch for 30 days continuously,31st day sit for the exam,Im sure ull pass with a good score).
LBNTL,
Id like to thank Javaranch and all its moderators( Maha and Ajith esp..) youre all doing a great job friends. Also Id like to thank my friend Mr.Sargunam who provided me right from Balagurusamy(Programming with java) to almost everything. Which I can never ever reciprocate. Thank you very much sir.
Thank you everybody, tq javaranch,
Swami (trying Mahas style, big fan of her already) will be hanging around in the SCJD forum,
Meet u all there.
