If you overload you MUST change the argument list. But in override the arguments must remain same or subtypes..
Yesterday I passed SCJP 5 with 95%. Among the questions there was a question from thread, that was of type drag and drop. I had to fill in the answers in 5 slots by dragging the choices into them. But in the code I found that sleep() is called without any try/catch block and there were no throws in the method signature aswell. So I was searching for compiler error, but couldn't find it So I had to assume that the code will compile fine and then answer it accordingly. I got one wrong from threads, so I am pretty much sure that this IS the question where I made mistake.

So is it possible to have such questions?
Thanks. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of this forum.

I sat for exam today and passed with 95%. It took a little more than 3months for me to prepare, of course the effort was distributed over this time. But i utilized this easter week and studied for the entire week. After I have completed my first pass of studying the K&B book I sat for the model test that comes with the CD and got around 64/65%. I revised the book another time and took the self tests at the end of each chapters. Got >90% in almost every chapter except for threads and assertions. So studied these two chapter again for two days and then took every self test again. Then I know I was ready for the exam. :-)
Thanks to everyone of javaranch and the great book by K&B

Hi, I am a newbie in this forum. I do not have very good internet connection. So I use rss feed to track latest postings in this forum. If I see any topic of my interest i tried to follow it. But from last couple of days rss is not updated and now I visited the forum and found out that it's not showing in firefox's auto discovery. So is there any efficient way to track postings?

Thanks

If you use string literals they are always created and saved into the String pool. Since String is immutable, so a simple s=s+"blah" will create two Strings in pool. One is "blah" and another is the string after concat operation.
I think the answer is A. Because you can make an overridden method less restrictive.
