Thanks. Even I think that is a better option

What's the preferred approach when we have to return a huge amount of data for a REST GET call. Let's say we have 30K JSON objects to be sent (after narrowing down the GET as much as possible), can we do a streaming concept.

a. Can we return multiple chunks of data as and when it's ready. Let's say 3K first and next 3K when that's ready and so on till 30K. Not sure if the service can have a handle to the caller and keep sending multiple data.

b. Service can send 3K and also send a index may be a id like 1556. So that client can call again by passing the index as 1556, this time service can send next 3K starting from 1556 id and return the index as 1856 and it goes on till client gets all 30K.

Please let me know if the above is not clear.

JodaTime will make it simple and is more reliable if you are on JDK7 and below

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But just out of curiosity in the first scenario I changed the Double to Long, Float and even Hash Map or some other object. Still I get the compilation error. Only if I give Object, it gets resolved.

Any idea why it is so?

Hi,
I came across this Question in recent times. Considering two Below scenario. In Scenario A, I get a Compile time error but in Scenario B, it compiles fine and runs good.
Can some one tell me why?

SCENARIO A:

There is a COMPILE Time error at Line 3.

SCENARIO B:

Compiles fine and runs good. Second constructor gets invoked. Why?

Thanks a lot.

Since in my requirement we always know that the order is going to be same like CAT always comes before and DOG somewhere in the middle and ELE after that. I used ".*CAT.*DOG.*ELE.*". But it is not going to work if the order changes.

Thanks again because with the positive lookahead suggested above, I no more have to worry about the order.

One one question: Why do we have ^ there in "^(?=.*CAT)(?=.*ELEPHANT)(?=.*DOG).*". I know that ^ is to indicate the beginning of line. But could not identify the purpose of it here.

Note: Even the OR condition that you have mentioned above can be simplified. Hope you got it after going through the Positive lookahead.

Hi All,

When we use the Pattern and Matcher to check if a string complies to a regular expression, how do we perform an AND condition.

For example: Let say I have a really big string. To find out if that String has either 'DOG' or 'CAT' or 'ELEPHANT' word in it, I can use the logical OR (|) symbol. But to find out if that String has all three 'DOG' and 'CAT' and 'ELEPHANT' word in it, how do we construct a pattern?

Hi All,

In some websites, when we create our own id, we are shown a popup with their Terms and Conditions getting displayed. We keep clicking Next till the last page and we click either 'Agree' / 'Dis Agree'.

Can someone let me know if we already have any APIs (including third party) which does this job for us.
We can very well do it ourself, but for any user accepting this we might need to generate a unique id for user.

Please let me know of any information regarding this.

@ MathewBrown: I will try that for sure.

@Michael Dunn: We do already show so many columns in that table. Business does not want to increase four or five more columns by splitting them in different columns.

Hi All,

I have User Details (User Name / Age / Sex / Location). Lets say we need to display all these details in a Table Column.

For e.g.,

Row1 => Karthick 25 Male ABC
Row2 => Arun 26 Male DEF
Row3 => Sharadha 30 Female GHI

In the above column you can see that elements are not ordered properly. All these are displayed in one column named User Details in different row.

What I am trying to achieve is

Row1 => Karthick 25 Male ABC
Row2 => Arun 26 Male DEF
Row3 => Sharadha 30 Female GHI

{HTML does not align properly. Please find attached image}

In a single column, I am trying to Order the details to make sure all the names/ages/sex and location comes properly as shown above.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

I have tried by creating my own renderer and placing four JLabels (one for each above) inside them in Flow Layout and setting Minimum size for all JLabels in them. It did not work.

Hi All,

In our project, we need to maintain the knowledge sharing and other project documents.
Is there any free document management tool that would be a replacement for Sharepoint?

Thanks in advance for your response.
'Code running as part of the JNLP app'.

UI Side. Not the server.

Hi,

We have deployed our application through JNLP.

Now we have a requirement asking us to show the JNLP links used by each users. After we launch the application through JNLP, can we get hold of the JNLP URL used? The complete URL.

Thanks in advance for your response.
