Hi while going through a tutorial i tried to used @Configurable annotation to instantiate a class out side the Spring container.

In my xxxContext.xml i have written the below code:

Now, when i create the instance of classToTestConfigurable in some other class using the new operator, it is not initoalized with its value.

Can you please tell me that where i am missing.

Thanks,

Hi,

As per the java rule we cannot Instantiated Abstract class, thats 100% right.

But my confusion arise when i saw the strange behavior in Spring, that, i have created one Abstract class and in that i have created on lookup method and thats also abstract. Then in my Spring config file i have written the below code:

and i run my container and this bean initialized successfully, but when i remove the code <lookup-method name="getLatestObjectOfBean" bean="beanToGetFromLookupMethod"/> from above bean defination then it starts giving error which is right that it should not create an instance of Abstract Bean.

Can you please explain the reason for this.?
Hi,

While going through Spring Refrence i come across while sentence
When an ApplicationContext gets loaded, it automatically searches for a MessageSource bean defined in the context. The bean has to have the name messageSource, they try to say that the above defined bean should be named as messageSource only,,, it cant be anything else...

Can you please clarify,,,, because i got that working even i changed the name for that also.

Thanks

Hi,

While using autowire attribute in <property> we can set that to autodetect, this will try to autowire by both byType and constructor.

Can you please explain me that whether firstly it will look for byType or constructor?

I know this that if constructor with no arguments
