Hello Kyle.

I am new to Javascript and am really looking forward to your new book. Will that be a basic book on JS or will you be diving deeper in to all the concepts in JS and covering HTML 5, CSS, etc ?

Thanks,
Bala
Thanks for the reply.

Actually yes, some times even the user who submitted first assumes that the process is not running correctly and re-submits it again. Or some other user submits the process.
Am not sure whether usage of synchronized will help here and nor the synchronized threads.

Actually, am thinking about a way to load the first user submit details in a xml and when second user submits, use JAXB to identify whether it is present and if present do not do it again.

Any suggestions or improvements?

Hi.
I have an application, where in I have multipler servers (used for load-balancing). And the data is maintained in oracle and is pretty huge. As the application is vast, there are many performance-intensive transactions that take even 10 minutes to complete. Recently, we have been having issues where the same operation has been committed by multiple-users. Example,

a.) First user logs in and submits the process
b.) while the transaction is running, another user trys to do the same thing unknowing the fact that it is already running.

I can try preventing this submit, using javascript or even session. But, this being a multi-server architecture, session variable that is present in one server is not visible to the other one.

Can you please suggest me one best way to prevent this problem?

I agree that it is not user friendly. But, we have pagination concept. Users will get to this scenario only when they turn off pagination.

And, as you said, having a second form might solve this scenario. By, disabling the non-so-needed fields, can we ensure that those doesn't get submitted to the page ? Will it improve performance?
Hi

I have a page that has 900 rows and 10 columns. Among them , only 2 columns are editable. I use

document.selectEndItem.action = "nextpage.jsp?page=AddEI";
document.selectEndItem.target = "_top";
document.selectEndItem.submit();
to submit the form contents to the next page.

It takes some time to navigate to the next page. Is there a way by which I can minimize the time taken ? Can I submit only the fields that I need to submit to the next page?

Note : In the processing page, I have a variable by which I identify the changed rows and process only them.
Hi.

I have just started the preparation for SCEA Level 1 with book SCEA by Mark Cade and Simon Roberts .
I read through the 1st chapter. While skimming through UML, I thought I could cross check the exam's objectives from sun's website "http://www.sun.com/training/catalog/courses/CX-310-052.xml".

I came to know that the syllabus is not exactly matching the book. I am confused on how to go ahead with the preparation on this. Can anyone please help me on this ? Do I need to read through all the chapters in that book and then map it with the objectives ?

Please guide me in proceeding on this
Thanks & Regards

Hi All

To start with, I haven't used much tools for testing in our project. But, heard that JUnit is a good tool. Can you please let us know how different is Agile from this?

Thanks

Hi Ganesan.
Am planning to do SCBCD now, and then take SCEA 5.0 next. Hence, I don't have in depth knowledge abt the syllabus of SCEA.

Would like to ask you whether your book will suffice the entire syllabus for SCEA ?
Also, if available in market, what would be the price initially ?

Thanks in advance
Bala
That would be great Ganesan. We all are anxiously waiting for such a wonderful book.
Hi All.
With the same note, Can anyone let us know on when we would get the latest version of Head First EJB for 1.5? Or do we have any other single book that covers the entire syllabus ?

Thanks
Balakrishnan
Congratulations !!!
