This is reg the Book you have written on Building Intranets using Liferay portals as this was using the 4.3 version of the Liferay product as there were so many changes right now they have released 5.X and it is also getting Integrated with Share Space(WebSynergy) just want to know are you going to release any new book using the 5.x version.

Hi Shashi,

you can use any of the portal servers available freely in the market and deploy your war file to run the portlet.
For your Info below are the list of portal servers
1)SunJavaPortalServer7.x
2)JBossPortalServer
3)Pluto

Hi All

Has any one used google gadgets and deployed the 'googlegadgets.war' given by them as it is throwing an expection while deploying the above fine.
If any one has done can you Pl.tell the changes to be done as Iam using Sun Java Portal Server 7.2.

Sry for starting the thread again I could able to deploy and test the Struts application but trying to make the example similar to that ran out in to problems has any one developed Struts application as portlet if so can any one throw give some steps to implement as iam using sun portal server.

Hi All,

I just want to learn how to use the Struts as portal and I have downloaded the SunPortalServer and found that there is a strutssample.war which is an example given by sun but to me it is not getting deployed.
has any one developed struts portlet using JSR 168 if so any examples or links would be highly appreciated.
If any one used the above war application and deployed could you tell me the steps.

Hi All,

I have also developed struts portlet using the documention given by Sun for Developing struts portlet and deploying to Sun Portal Server but I couldn't deploy it or the sample provided by sun strutssample.war provided by sun couldn't being deployed.
Has any one developed struts portlet or used the above war file to test the struts portlet.
If any one of them has developed struts portlet can you Pl.send the info or any link would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I had configured the workflowPortlet.war file and deployed on to glassfishserver but getting an exception in the doView Method which is as shown below.
As it is getting action value as null while passing it to the doView jsp.

Hi Yuan,
Sry just got the book link right and found out the topics mostly it is for the people who want to customize the liferay portal.
if you would have added some more topics specific to JSR 168 & JSR 268 i.e web2.0 then it would have been advantage for users like me as we are using specfic JSR 168 standard.any how as liferay is JSR compatible we can use as a base model and try to incorporate the things in our development.

Hi Yuan,

I couldn't see any of the material atleast topics covered in your book as iam eager to know what are the contents present in the book,Downloaded various tutorials on Portlets using JSR 168 and praticsed some of them and want to know how exactly it is different from other JSR Tutorial's is your book specific to liferay portal?
One more thing to know is have you covered JSR 268 concepts also eg IPC,WSRP things ... in your book.
If you can provide us a link to go through it would be a great help for all of the users ...

Sun has a portal server as i could configure the sun portal server but not able to configure the admin features properly,hence if some one has configured the SunPortalServer 7.1 successfully,can you Pl. try to help out in getting the admin console working properly.
