Hi All,

Can any one explain the following or provide some resources to know the same.

We know that when we enable security in WAS v61, all WAS processes will communicate to deployment manager by exchanging SSL certificates.

Can any one explain how this happens.

Is it possible to replace websphere internal certificates completely , if so what would be the steps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It seems that you have enabled the security.

Can you please post your complete error message and the type of ceritificates you are using .

This could be due to several reasons , for example The ceritificates installed may not be valid.
Or the certificates might have expired and is not able to renew the certificates automatically.

Hi,

Are your websphere and Database running on same machine ?

You can use local OS user names only to use Websphere for OS Authenitcation.

Hi,

Except for JVM paramteres set , you can use tivoli performance viewer report which is avaiable with websphere v61 itself.

Hi,

I am finding time zone in SystemOut.log as UTC and other log files too, The box time zone on which WAS is running is HKT , Database machine time zone is also HKT , so i must make sure that the time zone of websphere as HKT.

> How do we change the timezone of websphere to make it to HKT

> Which time zone will be taken by Applications which is running on websphere , UTC or HKT or other ??

> What is the deafault time zone does our websphere takes when installing .

Thanks ,

Hi all,

we got a config error mesg in WAS61 console saying that there is a duplicate name 'URL' exists in resources.xml file at particular location of appl. server in config dir.

From our observation we found there are 5 properties with name as URL as mentioned below.
1. <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1248106890890" name="URL" type="java.lang.String" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//remote_ip:port/db" required="false" /> under <propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248106068839">

2. <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1248106941125" name="URL" type="java.lang.String" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//remote_ip:port/db" required="false" /> under <propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248106400744">

3. <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1248105272599" name="URL" type="java.lang.String" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//remote_ip:port/db" description="This is a required property. The URL indicating the database from which the Data Source will obtain connections, such as 'jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:sample' for thin driver and 'jdbc:oracle:oci8:@sample' for thick driver." required="true" /> under
<propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248105272586">
4. <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1248106826194" name="URL" type="java.lang.String" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//remote_ip:port/db" required="false" /> under <propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248105272586">

5. <resourceProperties xmi:id="J2EEResourceProperty_1248105688438" name="URL" type="java.lang.String" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//remote_ip:port/db" description="This is a required property. The URL indicating the database from which the Data Source will obtain connections, such as 'jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:sample' for thin driver and 'jdbc:oracle:oci8:@sample' for thick driver." required="true" /> under <propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248105688424">

If we can observe params 3 and 4 are both under <propertySet xmi:id="J2EEResourcePropertySet_1248105272586"> and values of remote_ip, port and db are same on all the 5.

Now our concern is

> which one we have to remove and how to select among them.
> What is the best way to remove.
> Is there any other file that needs to be changed.
> do we need stop/start server before or after the change.

Kindly help me in this regard.
Thanks

Hi All,

We are having one java application running on an websphere app. server. But that is too slow in response taking 5 to 6 minutes for a single request.
By simple research, i came to know that request metrics can be helpful to find out the component which taking more time. but i am not sure how to use it.

Can anyone help me in the steps involved ,like how to configure that app. server to use request metrics , any links or resources will be helpful.
Are there any performance optimization techniques ??

Thanks,
Sekhar.

Paul, Thanks a lot for helping me, But the thing is we need to get that complete code snippet , so that we can ask application team to work with the same.

Is there any way to do that. I am trying to find out the code responsible for Leak suspect but not able to do so, i am finding which type of object it is. along with the memory address where it is.

This information alone may not help.

Thanks
Sekhar.
