Ragavendra,
I am afraid that your login name does not satisfy the javaranch's naming policy that the login name should neccessarily contain fst_name and lst_name.

And also HTTP protocol is request/response by nature, which is a boon rpc style web service.
SOAP can easily rely upon http for its request/response characterstic.

SOAP did stand for Simple Object Access Protocol for its version 1.1. That is, SOAP was an acronym till for Simple Object Access Protocol 1.1.
In SOAP 1.2 it is no more an acronym and it is just SOAP. This is because the expansion Simple Object Access Protocol was misleading.
So now SOAP is Just SOAP... )

I am using WSAD 5.0 . tcpmon is in-build in WSAD 5.0. Not sure if it is in 4.1.1. Use WSAD help to search if it is there. If yes, how to use that.

Hi,
Use TCPMON utility to see what kind of message is being sent from client to server. It will show you the return message from server to client also.
So you will be able to see whether the message coming from server is OK or not. Or the problem is with de-serialization.
Tcpmon comes with apache axis.

Hi,
1. I have an application which is written in 'C'. How can I web
service enable that? Do I have to write a java program where I should
call the 'C' routines, I want to web service enable?
I have seen in WSAD that EJB/Java bean etc can be published as web
service. How can I publish my 'C' application as web service the same
way I publish my 'Java Bean'?
2. What is the basic difference between SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2? Is
Apache axis is very different from SOAP 1.2?

I am not 2 sure whether some mess up going on in javaranch to decrease the membership number. If so, please dont messup my membership #. I am ok with that cute little smart number .
BTW does anyone know the significance of # 1722?

I think we should make a policy when making someone a 'bar'tender/sheriff. His/Her membership # must be less less than or equal to #1722. Because mathematics says all the guys/gals with membership # less than 1722 are real smart So there.

Today I am going to meet the 'Toughest Guy in the Software'. That is what they call Steve Mills of IBM. I work for IBM India and njoy the status of a veteran. Yes I would be completing 5 years in IT this July. Already feeling very old and preaching all the new comers.

BTW it is always very easy to review the work of others than really doing the work. U can always find a 'fault' in others (read subordinate) work.
And that is what I am relishing.

Hey, dont say what crap I am writing.. Just increasing the number of my post. The number of posts is very less I am told. So here I am..

Hi Friends,
I am one of the oldest member of javaranch. I joined this forum when I was a kid, back in may 2000, 3 years back. Ever since I have been in luv with this place. And many of my friends like it as well.
Since then I passed 3 certifications. I got a lot of help from Javaranch in preparing for the exams.

Thanks a zillion to the javaranch and the javaranchians. Special thanks to bartenders like ajith who are real 'Great'.

BTW, will I get some award for completing my 3 years here )

Yes, they do not send the certificate for passing the ooad using uml exam. If you want certificate you need to pass a couple of more exams
Congratulations!!! Thanks a lot for the suggestions..
It was true. the scheme was announced in Nov 02 and got over in Dec 02. First 1000 who passed the sample test got the free voucher.
Hi All,
Is not it the right time for the Javaranch to have a seperate forum for IBM OOAD/UML Certification. Many of javaranchian are taking the exam it seems, so it would be nice if we have a seperate thread for the 486 exam.
Please contribute all your learnings and questions relating to exam.
Thanks and regards
Sanjay

Sanjay
