Dave and Craig,
Thanks for the answers.

Hi Craig,
I have been using Spring for quite some time now. However, even though I know it, I haven't used Spring MVC.
I am considering going with Spring MVC for a 'small' project (2 people 1 month).
Can you suggest - with your insights about learning curve - if is worth studying the new MVC (annotations, etc) or should I go ahead with old one. What are major changes besides annotations and does Spring MVC it have as good support as struts2?

Hi,
Just out of curiosity I am learning C++ .
For a C++ starter how would you rate the course at
Standford SEE site ?

Hi,
Yes, it looks like library problem.
Although this may not be directly related, are you using compatible versions of libraries? (I used to get some class not found exception in one of my previous projects because CGLIB version was not compatible.)

Well say it The Godfather way.

Tom Hagen telling Michael to learn how to say no from his father when he throws Tom out for some time. The Don explaining that if you want to say No to someone, make it sound that as if he is saying no. Let it come from the other person.

Hullo Jacquie,
Thanks for the answer.
By the way I started with java around 2005. What I meant was that I should have started java some 3 years earlier. However, point taken. It is never too late.
Now a corrollary question:
Another thing: one of the tips says that you should be willing to start at the bottom.
Is it good to start at the bootom of a big thing or at the bottom of small thing. For example: If I were to suggest a new language to someone I would suggest one newer than java.

PS. Thanks Henry for the link to answer topic.

Hi,
Steve McConnell in code complete says that your position on the tech wave matters a lot. I agree and sometimes I think that I should have started with Java a couple of years earlier. But it is always driven by outside forces. (?)
Could you please give brief contents of the book, maybe chapter names/summaries? And by the way, why the word 'tidal'? Is the word used to say something beyond the obvious?

Yes. The command class should be a bean with getters and setters. Not a controller.

The command class would probably get a car object from the screen and it will be then used by the business logic.

(Since it is posted in Meaningless Drivel forum)
I have some very good suggestions for services/product companies:
1. Microsoft
2. IBM
3. Yahoo
4. Google

Aren't these good? I mean if I start a new company I would start google. I can suggest a couple of more.

This was heavily influenced from Wodehouse (A new actress looking a good name for her to use in show business - She comes up with Greta Garbo. But it's already taken. )

Hi,
I came to know about this book from Joel's blog. When Joel recommends it, it is bound to be good.
Also Jeff @ coding horror says it is similar to Programmers at work. If it has even a couple of 'Nixon interviews' I would love to read it.
Hope to win this book.

From Programmers at work interview here
INTERVIEWER: Is computer science really a science?
GATES: It will be...

Hi,
When you wrote,

I tried reading one of P.G Wodehouse books; I couldn't complete it. It was very so-so. I can't even recall its name!

I take it that you were being funny.

Try his Blandings Castle series or Jeeves and Wooster series. If you read a couple of books from these, you would develop a taste and then probably want to read all of Wodehouse.

Also,
try Jerome K Jerome's Three Men In A Boat. You won't forget the dog Montmorency.
