Hi Everyone,

In my Swing Application,i have created a shortcut to a pdf file on button click .
Now the problem is that it is showing the default icon of Pdf .

I want to change this default Pdf icon and specify my own icon image.

I have used the following code to create a shortcut to a pdf file.

String[] cmd = { "ln", "-s", "/Users/abc/Documents/new.pdf" , "/Users/abc/Desktop/test.pdf" };

Try{
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd)
}
catch(IOException y){
System.out.println("Error"+y.getMessage());

}
I want to change the icon image of pdf shortcut created on button click.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I tried to navigate network drive with the help of JFileChooser ,JDirectortyDialog,JDirectoryChooser and FileDialog.

But i am not able to navigate to the workstations which are connected to the network.

For e.g.
Network/abc/workstationNumber1

There are so many workstations like workstationNumber1 in the above example which are connected to the network.

My requirement is to navigate through these workstaions,
and there should be a "CreateNewFolder" option on the component(eg-JFileChooser) which we are going to use for the above requirement.

Thanks,
Lucky

Hi Everyone.

I tried to implement your suggestions by using
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("ln -s /Users/abc/desktop/text1.pdf /volumes/newcd/mac.pdf");

It is not giving any error while executing.
But a link file is not created on the Desktop.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a project in Mac OS.And the requirement is that after clicking a button ,a shortcut should be made on the desktop and a pdf file should open.
I need to implement this using java.
I have made the whole Gui in Swings.
Even if we click the shortcut which is made on desktop, the same pdf needs to be launched.
