Hi All,

I have tried the Javafx Demos ..but found the performance a bit lagging when compared to swing especially for Large Table Rendering.
With Java 8 ..can Javafx be considered to replace Swing for production use .

I would also suggest having a look at jxtable from swinglabs

I think the standard jdk jar(rt.jar) is not on your classpath, considering it is not a ClassNotFoundException but a NoClassDefFoundError which your are getting.

I suppose you will have to decorate the existing model with a SortModel or extend the AbstractModel(First approach is definitely preferred)

Since you brought up the idea of sorting/filtering have a look at
Glazed Lists. It helps to accomplish such tasks very easiy.

Using Frame's get/set extendedState method ,it would be possible .

More info can be found at Frame docs

A Cellrenderer(like a rubberstamp) does not consume any events.
In the abstract tablemodel return true for isCellEditable and use CellEditors(DefaultCellEditor) with a click count of 2.

More info can be found here : Table Cell Editors

Keep listening to the textComponent's DocumentModel and use JTextComponent's selection methods..

If you are looking for something with a tree like structure with each node's properties being displayed like a table... i would suggest have a look at swingx TreeTable component.

1: The instance of jslider being added to the parent Frame is that of the SliderPanel , but the listeners are being added to a different instance of jslider.

2: To create labels for values use

setPaintLabels(true);
setLabelTable(createStandardLabels('some increment value' ) );
