Please help me in resolving the issue. TIA.
Connecting through Connection pool. Connecting with SQL server mode. Login credentials are correct. When executing the same jsp from IDE its working fine. Issue is when i try to access it from server after deploying it there.
Getting the below error when connecting to database from tomcat(jsp), this error is coming only when the jsp get hosted in server, where as from IDE its working fine.

Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "SQL Server did not return a response. The connection has been closed.".)

TIA.
But i'm interested in knowing the answer.
How Thread can be implemeted in code... All i know is it can be done in 2 ways either by implementing "Runnable" interface or by extending "Thread" class.
Is there any other way?? else how to answer for this question?
When I launch the pdf from servlet inside the server, in browser it is showing as "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". The same code is working in other places.

JSP
Applet has been ruled out, since it too have some security violation.

So it means that there is not alternative for ActiveXObjects?

It can't be handled like asking user to upload the file everytime.application should directly read from the client system.

is there any other work around other than applet?

I need to read a text file from a client machine. Rite now i'm doing it through ActiveXObjects using javascript. Since ActiveXObject is Microsoft based, it doesn't work in other browsers except IE. IS there any other method to read ? Please advice. TIA.

he client machine might not have a PDF viewer application at all or the browser might have been setup so as not to launch other applications.

Installed adobe pdf and other applications also launching.

The best you can do from the server side is set the right headers

What is the server side headers to be set?

JSP
I don't think there is problem in the code, as it is working in other client machines. Its not working only in a particular m/c.

Use a servlet to stream it to the browser instead.

I tired stream from servlet to the browser. still the same problem exists. Is there any browser setting issue will be there?
