but i text understands unicodes like "\u0c05" to create pdf, if we change the dabase encoding , can we able to store the unicodes like this \u0c05, i already tried with changing table encoding,but still i am retriving unicode as normal string.can you give me any detailshow to store and retrive unicodes from database

i am using i text to create pdfs ,
iam reading encoded strings from database (varchar-2),which are read as normal strings i.e if i store an encoded string "\u0c05" , i am not able to display actual decoded value of that string . it is printing as normal string as \u0c05 in the pdf .how to retrive that encoded strings from database.
any help is appresiated,

i am using i text to create a pdf with place holders and using this pdf existing pdf for place holders as template , i am able to read this existing pdf using pdf reader in to string buffer , and able to change the place holders with some other strings it is also displaying correctly in newly generating pdf , but i am facing a problem to use different languages (as i need to make a receipt in more than 50 languages dynamically) it is not displaying correctly.how to use Encoding while changing the strings in existng pdf and creating with that changes.

i am using itext
i want to change existing pdf template with some dynamic strings of differen languages and create a pdf with that changes to existing pdf, but i am not able to change the encoding to that data , can any ony tell me how to change the encoding to existing pdf using itext
