Hi folks!
I’m from Israel . I have to publish a chat program in Hebrew ( which is Right to Left language). I need all the input component to be set to Hebrew and the starting cursor in right position by default.
How can I perform it? And what other problems I should to worry about ?
Code please!
Thanks

Hi
Im developing a distributed application with RMI. The client will send an Images URL address to server, the server will load this image and grabs its pixels to an array, afterward the server will send the data array to the client, the client will create an image from this data array.
I tried to write piece of code that demonstrate this but it seem I misunderstanding here . I would like to receive a code that allows me to provide this idea .

Thanks

Hi
im developing a chat program RMI based. Since the GUI in java handled by layouts and doesn’t fit to my needs (as a graphic designer) I found that Visual Basic is more suitable and faster tool to take care of the GUI development.
There is a way to connect a Java server (RMI) and a Visual Basic client? If so I would like to receive source to learn how to establish this communication.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply
i did it that way:

is that what you mean?
(you said) :
Now that you have that, you will need some way to get the references to the objects themselves once inside your External listener method (since they are not local to External). To do this you will need to create accessor methods, such as: getButton1() etc.
///

I didn’t understand this section of you expiation. Just for the record im developing a chat program RMI based , as you see the ControlPanel class and other XXXPanel will be a co-component inside GUIManager.
In External class I extends Jpanel only to show the GUIManager’s components , I don’t have any graphic controller inside External just method to request the server, therefore I wonder what accessor methods do you mean?
Since my client also have a local Hashtable to store all the client’s information I wonder if your structure will not cuz NullPointerException when I request a particular entry?
Thanks a lot

hi
please take a look:

The External is the main class , I want the External class to listen to all the events that occur on the ControlPanel, how can I do it? And can this method decreas the listening performance?

Hi
Im developing a chat program RMI based. My classes hierarchy is consist of a server as a remote object and several assistant classes which are remote objects all of those are under the server computer.
My client (applet) contains several panels which each one presents the Client list , massage bar and e.g. therefore each panel is a different class.
Should I make all of those panels also remote objects on the server computer or regular classes on he client computer?
Thanks

Hi
im developing a chat program based on RMI.
the chat client program contains a list of clients and a connected id panel with their details( nickname, age, image e.g) , so whenever I move the list highlight on each client the id panel change with the highlighted client information.
As you see I need to make up a cash memory class in the client program which stores the clients information in order to provide a smooth slider action of the id panel.
Since I use RMI I wonder if I need to make this cash memory object under the client or under the server?
Do the RMI registry server actually downloads the remote object to the client computer?
thanks

Thanks you for the reply
As you said I kept references of the chatters to be able to refer to each of them by their listeners.
