Hi,
I have this scenario, what is the best way to handle this.

I receive lots of files from different stores, which holds the store name, address, how can you find distinct addresses?

What if the same address is written in different forms (like more spaces added, lower cases, upper cases), then how can you find the distinct addresses?

Thanks

I know what race condition is and I know what dirty read? I just want to know if they are same.
To my understanding we can avoid race condition by synchronized key word and in database we can use Isolation level ReadCommitted.
Please correct me
Hi,

I know what static variable, When it comes to it application can someone explain me the circumstances where I can use static variables.
and circumstances where I don't want to use static variables. Any Example will really help.

Can someone verify these ans for me:
Source is brainbench

To what level can an applet's permission be configured under JDK 1.2?
1) All applets run completely restricted in a sandbox environment
2) Applets run restricted in a sandbox by default, but they can be signed which allows them full system access.
3) Applets run restricted in a sandbox by default, but they can be signed, which allows a user to grant certain groups of permissions (write to disk, open network connection, for example) as requested by the applet.
4) Applets run restricted in a sandbox by default, but they can be signed, which allows them to be granted specific permissions (write to file X, open connection to host Y, for example) specified by a policy file.
5) Applets run restricted in a sandbox by default, but they can be signed, which allows the applet the permissions contained in the digital certificate.

How can you cause a class to receive notification when it is activated from serialized data?
1) Implement the readObject() method.
2) Implement a security manager to check for Serialization events.
3) Declare a SerializationListener class
4) Add a constructor that takes a Serializable argument.
5) Register a listener using Java.rmi.Activatable.

Hi,
I am trying to write a java code to do a string pattern search. I don't want to use any Pattern or Regular Expression. Can someone give me some input how I can do that.

Here is an example:

String is: aaBaBaaaBaaa

if characters aBa is found in the above sting print B, if aaa is found print A.

Example: aaBaBaaaBaaa will out put BAA.

aaaBaBaaaaBBaBaBa will out put ABAB

Thanks

I think it uses Factory Method, because it provides a mechanism to load particular instance of ResourceBundle subclass.
I want to know what pattern is used by ResourceBundle..Thanks, any example will be a good help

Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory()

"from Students ORDER BY name").list();
session.getTransaction().commit();
}
catch (HibernateException e)
{
session.getTransaction().rollback();
throw e;
}

CREATE TABLE students (
student_id int(10) NOT NULL,
first_name varchar(50) NOT NULL,
