Thanks Dan, i get your point for the second one and can you be more clear with the automating part for answer 1. Looking forward for your recent book release as the table of contents has some interesting ones..

Currently i face an issue in one my recent AIR application(am fairly new to Flex4), i am positioning many widget(separate components) each has self populated contents and functioning without any dependency on the other. since all of these different sized widgets are positioned in a main application, i gave the scrollers to the file and positioned these widgets within them having relative positioning for each. but yet when my application is resized or viewed in a different resolution, sometimes some of the contents in the widgets are cut though i can see the scrollers for the main file when it crossed its limit.. It would be helpful if you provide your explanation addressing with this case..

Thanks a lot in advance..

Hi Guys,

I have couple of questions one particularly with Flex 4 and the other one is generally with flex,

1) The scrollbar's(V & H) in flex 3 are normally within the container itself and we get them when it normally overflows. But i guess in Flex 4 spark components we need to explicitly set them and manage accordingly. Is there any better or clear way of dealing with these also i could not find much about this anywhere?

2) Action Message Format (AMF) being a binary protocol which can be understood by flash runtime, How we can claim that our data is completely secure surpassing (if any possible)swf/amf interceptors/decompilers in the way?

Just got to now from adobe bug system, they seem to add servlet 3.0 in the next version of blazeds.. thats good..

Its been quite a while since servlet 3.0 specs came and we see some app servers started supporting it. so is adobe concerned with providing blazeds equipped with using the Java NIO(non blocking input/output) with its messaging channel endpoints? I read that along with this specs the entire blazeds j2ee project stack will have a better performance output when its under some sizable load..

So can someone tell me is there anything much to be gained from using servlet 3.0 specs with blazeds beyond this, please share your thoughts.

Regarding the book promo(Flex and Java) went through the contents was glad to see some sections specifically for Blazeds remoting and messaging, definitley also chapter 7. Expected some more with AIR section

I've been working on Flex with Java for quite sometime, very much impressed by Flex components and the actionscript language itself.. The applications which i develop through flex are having a single URL(of my main mxml file) throughout all screens of the application. For a banking site or any such secured applications may be happy with this.. But for some applications we allow the clients to make use of the browser's bookmark feature for getting into some important drilled down segment of the application easily without coming through the steps every time..
Please tell me whether this could be done through a flex application..

Your comments also can make me learn something..

Thanks guys for your quick reply. I noticed something about JNotify. Have anyone used it? I will look into JNI as well..

Is there any API that can notify my application on any file system changes to the monitored directory? I don't want to use Polling (Timer scheduled checks). It would be better if that gets notified by the operating system support and works on any OS.. Please help..

~Santhosh
Since the Operating system is the second person after the person himself to know that a file is being created/deleted/modified residing in a file system. Is there by any means the OS will notify my application when there is any change (created/deleted/modified) to my application monitoring directory/file system ? I want to update my file in the application cache.. Previously i was polling to the directory at scheduled intervals to check for changes. but that seem to be a performance issue. So i came into this.. I don want to restrict with any OS as i always wanted to be Platform independent.

If there are any other solution which you feel better, you can tell me.
