Thanks a lot for your reply Iftikhar Arain

So you mean to say it is a security issue and not a specific one related to '#' in my url right? Even I thought the same & did put crossdomain.xml to see if it is working fine.

But the thing is the issue exist only for those images which have '#' in their url and the other images are loading without any errors. This problem exists even if I put crossdomain.xml in the server of the images

So I think the issue is specific for character like '#' rather than an generic problem. But I am not yet able to find any solution for this

Hi All,

This might be a silly doubt for you Flex gurus; kindly forgive my ignorance as I am a newbie to Flex :-(. The issue is I have a Image component in my mxml. The 'source' of the same is a url of a png file from some other system. If I use the url in my web browser directly it works. But if I use the same in my Image component the image does not show up. The only reason I can see is because the source url contains '#' in it as the png name contains that. So the source value is something like: "http://ea123:8080/something/new#value#01.png".

Can this be the reason? If so, what can be done to solve it? Thanks a zillion.

Hello Friends..

I am trying to implement a Search function into my Java application. We are using SAP for the deployment. So now I am trying to find out how to use the SAP TREX search engine API for this. I need to integrate the SAP TREX API with Java so that the Search from the front-end will use TREX to find out the results and return them back to the front-end where it will be listed. Is this possible? I googled a lot on this but could not understand whether this is possible or not. Kindly give me any info available on this and shed light on my ignorance over this. Thanks a zillion in advance.

Dear All,

I had attempted the SCWCD in a PearsonVue site last saturday. I am bit confused on the score card I got. The card says I have 100% for all the topics except the TLDs. But the overall percentage shows as 95%. I had written SCJP & SCBCD in Prometric centres and got a score of 98 when I had one answer wrong. My understanding was all the questions have the same weightage. Is there any changes when the exam is transferred to PearsonVue. I checked with the centre where I wrote the exam; but they said they don't any details about the score and asked me contact Oracle directly. But I don't know how to contact Oracle on this regard.

Kindly help me with any information you have on this regard. Thanks a zillion in advance.

Warm Regards,
Jisha

Hi..
I planned to take SCWCD exam by this weekend..I need some info help from you.. Is the exam you took had the same pattern questions as in prometric centers..
I have prepared SCWCD Head First and some mock questions (Sun 310 - 083)..
Is that enough? please help me..
I heard the cost of exam is Rs.5845 in prometric centers three weeks back..
Is there any increase in cost in peason vue centers?

Thanks in advance..

Hi Kesav,

Even I had some confusions on the changes. But don't worry. As Pedro has mentioned I too think the exam remains the same as Prometric one. Only the View is changed; the DB remains the same. Head First is more than enough for the exam; just check whether the book you have is the second edition which is updated for 310-083. I had referred to MZ notes too. The mock tests in Head First is great. The changes when the exam changed from Prometric to PearsonVue are as follows:

1. There might be changes in the centre for the exam. The prometric centres don't conduct the test anymore. In my case, I was not able to write the exam where I wrote my SCJP & SCBCD. Instead you have to write the exam in a PearsonVue centre. The past week none of the centres were ready to offer the test; but by this week I think most of them are ready. When I was writing the exam the system did hung up for around 3 times but I was able to resume after a little wait and changing 3 systems :P

2. There is an increase in price. It is 6250 now. But if you have a coupon taken previously then you can use it I think.

3. I am not sure about the scoring policy. My score card shows I have a 100% in all topics except TLDs. But my overall percentage is shown as 95 where as it should be 98. That was how it was for SCJP & SCBCD. The people at the centre were not able to help me on this regard; so may be we check with Oracle directly.

4. There is a change in the exam code which 1ZX0-858 now I think. You can check the PearsonVue/Oracle site to be sure.

5. If you have taken SCJP in Prometric you should merge your score with PearsonVue. The centre said they will mail me on the procedure. Once I get that I will tell you. Otherwise your exam centre will be able to help you for that I think.

These are the only changes I noticed. I hope it helps you.

All the best!!

Jisha
Thanks again Pedro
I asked the centre head about this; but he has no idea & asked me to contact Oracle directly. I wonder whether it is a new change from Oracle; different weightage for different questions or something like that

Pedro Kowalski wrote:So good luck Jisha!

Thanks a lot for your wishes .
I called up around 10 institutes but only one of those offered to conduct the test . Grabbed the opportunity and wrote the exam at that centre .

I passed the exam with a score of 95%. But I am a bit confused about the score card. It shows that I have a score of 2/3 in TLD section; all the other section shows 100%; but the overall score is 95%. I know the score is not a big thing; but was just wondering what this discrepancy is .

When I had written SCJP, SCBCD too I had a lost a question; but the score was 98

Zillion thanks in advance..

Dear Pedro,

Thanks a lot for the quick reply

This clears my fears

The PearsonVue centre told me about a change in exam code and an increase in the price for voucher. They hope that I will be able to write the exam by 4th June. Fingers crossed, I too wish that happens

Thanks a zillion again.

Dear All,

I have been preparing for SCWCD (OCPJWCD) for the past few months. I was planning to write the exam in this week. So I called the prometric centre where I had written my previous sun exams to register for the exam today. But I came to know that all the prometric centres have received a mail asking them to block all Sun exams till further notice. I contacted another centre too and the reply they told was that exams will now be conducted by PearsonVue instead of Prometric. They too are not certain when they can conduct the exam next.

I am worried about the impact of this. First I would like to know when this block on the exams will be removed.
Also I would like to know how this affects the current exam pattern ( I am planning to write CX - 083).
I have referred to Head First book & MZ notes & some mock tests for my preparation. Will the same be enough for the exam?

Kindly reply with your valuable knowledge..

Zillion thanks in advance,

that is the problem. we are doing a feasibility analysis to port an important process flow of our application to mobile device. But the bottleneck is that at one step user has to review a 5MB report (now it is in excel format, it could be converted to other formats also). This data could be streamlined to 2 or utmost 1.5 MB but not more. So can we conclude the application is not feasible to port to mobile devices?

Ulf Dittmer wrote:How is a user going to "confirm" 5 MB worth of data on a mobile device? What kind of data are we talking about?

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. As per the business requirement, the huge data must be confirmed by the user before going to the next step in the BPM. Hence data must be transferred to the device and make it viewable in the android platform. The data size would range from 5MB - 10MB...'m curious to know how to tackle similar cases in these resource constrained devices.

Ulf Dittmer wrote:How much is "huge"? Resource-constrained devices are not a good place to keep large amounts of data; could it be kept on the server instead of on the device?

Dear Android Experts,

I have a business process flow managed using BPM invoked through an android platform. But since the human interaction modules can trigger a web service which demands huge data transfer, the solution is not found to be realistic (considering the huge data transfer bottleneck of web services). Is there any other recommended way to realize such a scenario where huge data transfer is needed in Android platform?

Thanks a lot for your valuable comments...

Hi All,

I am a newbie with EXTJS. Kindly forgive if my doubt is silly. I went through Sencha.com; but was not able to catch up much. Hence this post.

I am using a CheckBoxSelectionModel in my grid for a popup screen. In the grid I have some Categories and each category has it's own list of items. When I invoke the screen I pass some ids and all the items with the ids remain selected and non-editable. Now I can select the remaining items. My problem is that I have to make it work in such a way that when I select a category all its items should get selected. I tried it using listeners; but it does not work. Which is the event that I should listen to? Is it afterrowselect? Or some other event? Kindly help on how to implement this. Each of my item in the grid has a catgoryId in its record.

Thanks a zillion in advance.

Dear All,

I cleared SCBCD yesterday with a score of 98%. Just wanted to thank everyone in javaranch for replying my posts both for scjp & scbcd. Since there is no authentic SCBCD EJB3.0 guide, let me share my study pattern:

I did read EJB3 in Action 2 times; once to get an overall view and next time to study the specific topics as required by the SCBCD objectives. I read Oreilly Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 also for some topics like Interceptors, Timer Service, Transaction & Security. In my opinion, Oreilly is a better book if you have a good idea about EJB3; but E3inA covers most of the objectives. But both books are not enough from an exam perspective.

These books might help to you to just pass the exam; but to get a high score you need to cover the specs; or STUDY MIKALAI ZAIKIN NOTES as I did. I did check spec occassionally; but MZ notes are excellent and I dont know how to thank him for being so nice to provide the notes for free. It's a 'must read' for the exam

Also, I felt that SCJP checks you ability to code in Java 5 where as SCBCD concentrates mostly on your conceptual knowledge.

I have around 1.5 years working in EJB3 and hibernate. So I was familiar with persistence API and I think that too helped me since there were several questions from persistence side.

Also Whizlabs is good for practice questions; but questions seems to be a bit simpler than those in Whizlabs.

Once again thanks for all who helped me!
