For IO Mughal enough.. But for threads, It is better you write code and test yourself.. synchronization, wait(), notify() , notifyAll(), .. Check how join()and yield() method works..

I haven't understood this, could you pls. elaborate?

Yesterday I cleared the SJCP2.. I want to prepare for Developer's programmer.. I heard that it is very tough compare to other Sun's Certification..
I don't have any prior hand's on experience on java.. I have done small code for core java(that is for JCP) and little knowledge in servlet and JSp..
I am afraid of this exam. because it contains....essay questions..
Based on my prior knowledge..
How long it take to prepare for this exam...

Thanks for all participant in javaranch who helped me lot..
Special Thanks to Javaranch,MarcusGreen, Rossean, Valentin and Micahel...
I will tell you my experience...
I have don't have any coding experience in Java before..
I started learning java 2 months back.. I started preparation for JCP on 14th September.. today 22nd and I made it..
Exam is not tough as i expected..
What I have done for JCP:
1. I Completed RHE in 15 days..
2. Simultaneously I completed MacrusGreens Tutorial, very useful for Exam.. Don't Miss it..
3. I read Rosseane Zhang's Java China, FAQ very good.. Don't miss this FAQ, It is very useful for Exam..
4. Studied IO/Threads, Exceptional Handing from Mughal..
I will give assurance that if you go through Mughal for IO, You will definitely get 100%..
5. I have taken total 5 mock test..
Jtips- I Got 60%,62%,
Marcus Mocks.- I got 80%,82%,89 %..
Thats all I have done....
Once again Thanks lot..... To all my Javaranch friends for help..

Suresh

Dear frineds,
Can any one explain the following code..

regards
Suresh
Dear Rajashree,
See the follwoing example...
Take A-Animal
B-Mammal
C-Cat..
You can create instances of Animal, Mammal , and cat .. like
Animal animal=new Animal();
Mammal mammal=new Mammal();
Cat cat=new Cat();
object o has actually been instantiated from class B as opposed to from A or C? ----means, Object O must be instantiate from only Mammal not from Cat and Animal..

a.) (o instanceof B) && (!(o instanceof A))// This option says that o is Mammal and O is not Animal.. This is not possible, if it is mammal it must be Animal.. Incorrect..
b.) (o instanceof B) && (!(o instanceof C))// o is Mammal and o is not Cat.. This Correct because Question is asking for only Object instantiated from Mammal and not Cat..
c.) !((o instanceof A) | | (o instanceof B))// o is not instantiated from Animal and Mammal.. Incorrect..
d.) (o instanceof B) //o is Mammal.. This seems to be right, but not.. o is Cat, this returns true.. but Question is asking for only o is instantiated from Mammal and not Cat..
e.) (o instanceof B) && !((o instanceof A) | | (o instanceof C))//o is Mammal and o is not Animal or o is Cat.. This wrong..

See the following code for more explanation..

Dear Valentin,
Now it is clear to me..
Thank you very much for neat and understandable explanation..

regards,
Suresh
Dear Valentin,
Thanks for fast response...
See the following code.. I modified your code..
From your explanation the following code will cause deadlock..
Correct me if I am wrong..

Suresh
