I'm currently using an applet to browse for all files in a folder, but refreshing the page is still needed.

Is there an alternative process to browse for all files in a folder without refreshing the page?

I use showDocument to refresh JSP page to get an object from session after the applet sent some value to servlet and the servlet wrote on session.
It works on Firefox but not IE.

How can I solve this problem?

The JFileChooserApplet sends selected files name to this Servlet via URL connection. And I want this Servlet to write selected files(pictures) name in <param> tags for another applet to display. Any advices for me?

I'm so new to servlet & JSP. Please clearly explain the solutions. Thanks a lot.

This code got this error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot forward. Response already committed.

I have read Java Servlet Programming and there is an example about applet-servlet communication. There are three classes in this example. One for an applet, one for a Servlet and one for HTTP(applet-servlet communication). HTTP class is imported in an applet class.

The question is " Which directory in the deployment environment I have to put there 3 classes ?".
Thank you in advance.

I have more questions. How I can upload multiple files (selected pictures) to a server.

Right now I have no ideas about uploading multiple files. I only know how to write a file at a time.
I use FileIn/OutStream to write to a shared folder which share data with a server instead.
Is it ok to do this?

Thank you again

I got a requirement to build a web application to upload pictures.

A signed JFileChooser to used to select pictures at Client-Side.
After pictures are selected, paths of all pictures have to send to another viewer applet to display(each picture for each applet).
This viewer applet is written by others and it only receives a path of a picture to display through <param> tag.

The question is how JFileChooser applet can send paths of all pictures to the viewer applet.

Sorry for my bad english, hope you can understand. Thank you for your answer.
