I am a novice in Junit Tests and would like to know - do we really write tests for tests ?

I will appreciate if it is really important to write Junit tests for Junit Tests validity ?

I am wondering what is the sequence of execution in a web based project -

1) A java class which implements "ContextLoaderListener"

2) A class which acts as a filter and is maped for /*

In my case, I see that first ContextLoaderListener is called first, but before ALL the statements are executed in "contextInitialized" method, I see some methods from "filter" java class getting executed. Can anybody explain me - how request is being processed ?

Thanks.

Hello Lorand,

I did setDaemon(true) before starting thread. I think it has resolved my issue of threads running continuously after closing the application. Please let me know, if it is the right approach ?

Thanks,
Arul.
Thanks Steve.
Thanks for your reply. Please let me know if we should call the setDaemon method before starting the thread ? My application is web based, so threads keep on running and they chew all the resources when I restarts server. Please help. Again thanks for previous reply.
Hello,

I am working on a multi-threaded application and even when I stop server and restart it, I see threads are still running in application. Please help me - how can I stop all threads when application stops so that when my application restarts - it starts clean.

Thanks.
Davie,

I need to save two records for User - manager type and employee record. So, I have username text on the JSP. I am not able to decide - how can I display it for employee type and manager type. Could you explain me more - what you are talking about ?

Thanks.

<html:form action="/postProcess">
Employee Information :<table>
<tr>
<td class="tdLabel">
ID
</td>
<td>
<html:text disabled="true" property="username" size="20" /> // MY PROBLEM
<html:errors property="username" />
</td>
</tr>

Manager Information
<tr>
<td class="tdLabel">
ID
</td>
<td>
<html:text disabled="true" property="username" size="20" /> // MY PROBLEM
<html:errors property="username" />
</td>
</tr>

So, I have two kinds of user information on my form. I need to save it in database. I am not able to decide - what should I name property as ? This form is not working. It is just saving first user information. Please help.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When this form is loaded, I have set two forms as before loaing above JSP page :

UserForm employee= new UserForm ();
UserForm manager= new UserForm ();
return mapping.findForward("success");

I am struggling with saving two kinds of User Information on same page. Please help.

I have mapping like -

User has many Order
Order has many OrderItem
OrderItem has one Address.

When a user make order - I have to save User, Order, OrderItem, Address in database.

In my DAO, I am saving record for Order as

getSession().save(OrderData);

I have to further save Orderitem and Addresses. Please guide me how do I do save records in OrderItem ? First, should I get id from Order which is just created and then save that in OrderItems. Then get Id for OderItem when it is saved in database and then save Address, etc for that orderitem. Please help.

Thanks.
