Hello,

We have a WAR(no EJBs) deployed on a WebSphere Express 6.0 on a Win2003 platform. We have a new upgrade to our software out, so we tried taking advantage of the dynamic reloading option and just copy/pasted all the JSPs and classes in to their respective folders (overwriting the previous versions). Just to be safe, I also stopped and started the WebSphere Service.

The issue is that the new code does not get picked up despite stopping and starting the WebSphere service. We have Dynamic Reloading Enabled (=true). Reload interval is set to 14400 secs. Is this interval too long? Should it not pick up the new code once the service is restarted?

We also tried deleting all the old JSPs and classes and copying just the new ones. Then restarted the service...it still picks up the older versions of code..........from a cache somewhere perhaps??

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Have a good one!

Thanks Bear!

I looked up HTTPUnit on Google for a bit. It looks like a framework for website testing and is quite comprehensive. But upon a first look, I couldn't find anything quite that relevant to what I am trying to do.

Could you, perhaps, recommend any other simpler resources that might help me get started on developing the Http request/response streams. The XML files that we plan to transmit may not be too big and atleast for the first pass, I hope to get them transmitted in one request without having to break them down and make it a multi-part transmission.

Thanks in Advancnce

Hey all!

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question, please redirect me if this is not.

With that, here is a question ... from a novice really.

We have a situation where we need to send an XML file from our server to another server..URL really (http:// abc.com/xyz.crspx). This URL expects this XML file, reads and sends us back a response (with success or error codes etc) which I need to write to a file and save. The XML file itself contains the authentication information which the remote server will use before it sends a response back.

Is this something I should use HTTP Request/Response for. Can I do this in a batch mode where this program runs every 10 mts and picks up an XML file in a predetermined location and transmits it. Are there limitations to the size of the XML file.

Any direction on how to proceed will be very helpful. Suggestions & resources are appreciated.

Thanks much!

Duh!! :-)

Thanks Bear!!

Sometimes a second set of eyes help a lot.... it is funny how one misses the very obvious while they are staring right at it.

Thanks a bunch again. Have a great weekend!

Hey everyone!

This may seems fairly rudimentary, but has me stumped right now. We have a bunch of JSP pages, which render HTML to the browser ofcourse. Intially, when the user pressed the "ENTER" key on the keyboard, the form was always submitted. But then we made some changes to the JSPs and I think we broket it at that point. Now the keyboard "Enter" does not work, and the user has to use to mouse to click on the "Enter" button on the page, which is annoying to some users.

Thereason for the changes are as follows... Basically, some transactions take a little longer to process . We had some impatient users submitting the form multiple times to get a response and hence double-posting transactions. TO avoid that, we put in som Javascript which disabled all the buttons on the page until they got a response back. I think thats where we broke something. THe code is as follows....

Any advise on how to enable our Keyboard Enter Key will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much!

PS --> I did search this forum for solutions with out much luck.
Bear,

You are right, we can auto-generate links. But the file names are not standardized nor are the formats. So we have to potentially come up with a mechanism that does that.

In this particular case, since this app is completely internal, we were hoping that there may be a way to open a folder in Windows explorer from where the user can choose which file to view.

Thanks

Bear,

We did that for another feature. But in this case, the number of docs may be huge 200+ and there are several such folders. So, rather than go through the maintenance of creating links to individual docs, we were hoping to give them access to the folder so that they can pick and choose what they want to view.

Any suggestions of work-arounds are most welcome.

Thanks

JSP
Bear,

Thanks for the response. Ideally we wanted to open the folder on residing on a server from a client.

What if it were are shared folder with open access to all? What our project is trying to do, is allow users to open loan docs which are located in a shared-central location when they book loans...more for reference.

Do you think there is a way to do this?

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to invoke a Windows command (such as explorer.exe or cmd.exe) through a JSP that I have. I can't seem to get the JSP to recognize these commands through an <href> or any command. How does one accomplish this?

Specifically what I am try to do is invoke Windows explorer with a path such as C:\temp ..this path is passed to me as a variable in this JSP.

Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated. I have already attempted to search for this on this forum and haven't come up with any results.

Thanks much!

By the way, the activity log displays this error... but all the Virtual Host settings are accurate as far as I can see-

DefaultNode\DefaultNode\server1 CServlet.Request.Processor.Exception.Virtual.Host.WebGroup.Not.Found %com.ibm.ejs.resources.seriousMessages n{ &: The web group / has not been defined

Thanks,

Hello,

Sorry for posting twice, but I thought I mislabeled the first post. Here is my ques.... I have searched and haven't found a workable solution yet.

I am using WAS Ex 5.1 with Apache2. I have a WAR file that is installed on the DefaultNode or server1 on WASEX5.1. My issue is when I try to run the index.jsp page using http://servername OR http://servername/index.jsp ; the JSP source code displays on the server rather than the page. I am fairly certian this is not a code issue as the same index.jsp has worked on WAS4.0 platform. I think it is more to do with Apache redirecting requests to WAS....but I am not sure what the issue is or how to resolve it......any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Could it be my plugin is not regenrating correctly?

WEIRD thing is the same thing happened with a past installation and a got resolved after a few restarts etc..... not sure what I did to resolve it( I don't think I made any config chnages). ....now I am stumped...

TIA,
