I've been using Go irregularly for about a year and I like it a lot. I have yet to really dive in deep with it.

I've found a few "Gotchas" on my own, and wonder if you could share what you think are the biggest gotchas.

The biggest Gotchas I've found is this:

type T struct {   index int } ts := make([]T,0) // populate ts for i, t := range ts {    t.index = i //doesn't actually change anything in ts }

I understand why this is, but I nevertheless make the mistake.

Hey there,

I have a bunch of multithreaded C++ code (using pthreads, unix style mutexes, OS specific memory barriers and such). Does your book cover strategies for porting existing C++ code to the new C++11 standard? Or is it simply a matter of replacing constructs one at a time? Any general advice? • Experience with PLAF (Pluggable Look-And-Feel) is a plus
• Minimum four years experience Object-Oriented analysis and design techniques
• A solid understanding of the basics of GUI design and the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework
• Minimum four years experience with software development processes & lifecycles
• Comfortable with performing and receiving peer reviews of source code
• Good communication skills are required to interface with IT peers in all streams
• Four year bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

This is a contract-to-hire position with salary commensurate with experience.
