Hi,

I am learning the Weblogic Portal using workshop. I Installed Weblogic Portal 10.3.2 with Workshop and created a sample portal application, configured the Workshop to start the weblogic server and start the server,Run my application EAR into server and saw theopen administration console.

Please clarify the following quesitons

1. How do i deploy the portal application and access my application without using Workshop?
2. What is the portal admin console url,port number?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Hello All,

I had a pre-developed code wherein the code is written in JSR-168 portal standards in JBOSS.I am trying to setup on a new machine on weblogic through weblogic workshop
But I am getting the error "renderRequest cannot be resloved" in JSP.
In my jsp I had the taglib <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/portlet_2_0" prefix="portlet"%> and <portlet:defineObjects/>.
I had added portlettaglib.jar.But still error is not resolved.Are there any other .jar files to be added to classpath?
Any list of jar files to be added to build jsr-168 portlets on oracle weblogic?
Are there any links to develop jsr-168 portlets (ajax based) on oracle workshop?

Thanks in Advance,

Hello,

How to know J2EE version if my Application Server is JBOSS?

Regards
Hello,

I have an application developed on struts and runs on JBOSS.

We recently moved our code to a public ip say ***.**.***.**;

After that we have introduced an URL http://java.kk.in by DNS server.

Now the problem is I am unable to login in when my cookies in my browser(only IE) is disabled in Internet Explorer.But,it is fine with other browsers in both cases like enabling/disabling the cookies.

And it is working fine with Internet Explorer when I enable the cookies.

Internally,when an user is logged in I am storing my session id and checking that in my application at relevant times.(when ever a user on memu items etc..).In all the cases my session id is same till logout.But in IE without enabling cookies a new session id is created.So,when I am checking to work with menus,I got a mismatch and application is failing.
Please do the needful.

Thanks in Advance,
Sowjanya.

Yes,we are trying to do the same.Referring to files relative to your Application.

For this,In servlets we can do this from servletContext.geResource()

But,it is failing in portlets(JSR 168)

our issue how to do this in portlets.

In local sytem if I specify the file system path like D:\example\... -->in the system where I am working in eclipse it is fine

But when I place the file in server machine(remote machine) it is not taking that path.it is giving below exception.

Exception... "Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012" nsresult:..

We have created reports through Jasper Reports and created a file called x.html file.

In local sytem if I specify the file system path like D:\example\...

It is working fine.But,when it deploy it in server it is not taking the path of that file which is automatically created.

Giving some exception like
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012" nsresult: "0x805303f4 (NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI)"

Thank you for your quick response.

My requirement is as follows:

1.After Login,I had home page.There I want to include a textbox for multi-lingual purpose.

I want to know the portlet which is used as home page after login.

2.I want to include My content in CMS and use these in my portlet.I know how to include my html files in the server.But,I want to know

how to utilise these contents in the portlet.

Is there any seperate .war file to be downloaded from net or some forums.

Dear All,

I want to establish the connection to Database.My Application server is JBOSS.

My Client code is as follows:
package ejb.bean.oracle.ejb30;

import java.sql.Connection;
import java.sql.ResultSet;
import java.sql.Statement;
import java.util.Properties;

import javax.naming.*;
import javax.sql.DataSource;

import oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource;

class SC_Connection {

static Connection con = null;
public static Connection getConnection()
{
try
{
Properties properties=new Properties();
properties.setProperty(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
properties.setProperty(Context.URL_PKG_PREFIXES, "org.jnp.interfaces:org.jboss.naming");
properties.setProperty(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "jnp://localhost:1099");
Context ctx = new InitialContext(properties);

DataSource ds= (DataSource)ctx.lookup("OracleDS");
con = ds.getConnection();
System.out.println("connection opened >>>> " + con);
}
catch(Exception e) {

e.printStackTrace();
}
return con;
}

public static void closeConnection()
{
try{
if(con!=null)con.close();
System.out.println("Connection closed");
}catch(Exception e){}
}
public static void main(String str[])
{
SC_Connection.getConnection();
}

}

I pasted my oracle-ds.xml in server/default/deploy.

Oracle-ds.xml:
----------------

<datasources>
<local-tx-datasource>
<jndi-name>OracleDS</jndi-name>
<connection-url>jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:sid</connection-url>
<driver-class>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</driver-class>
<user-name>root</user-name>
<password>password</password>
<metadata>
<type-mapping>Oracle9i</type-mapping>
</metadata>
</local-tx-datasource>

</datasources>

But when I run the program I am getting the following exception:

Thank You Jaikiran,

My problem is resolved.

This is Bottom Up Approach where we are exposing EJB as a web service.

But,I want to know the Top Down Approach where I had a WSDL and I want to generate EJB classes.

Please provide necessary information.

Thanks in advance.
