S.A.I was put to an end after Oracle acquired Sun so you cant do OCPJP any more through SAI.
If you are in Karachi, you can call TechnoEd (it is an affiliate of Oracle University) and it might be able to provide you the voucher at discount.
I had read in the SCEA Study Guide that the exam wouldn't contain questions that can be answered by rote or questions that test API knowledge but then I came across a question in a mock exam which was : "Select the interfaces which are to be implemented for a stateless session bean.."
My question is that can I expect such a question in the exam or was it put in the mock exam to confuse the exam taker?

Congrats on passing part I and thanks for the great tips in your first post . What books did you study from? I don't think studying from just one book would be enough, or would it? what do you recommend?
I dont know whether this certification is good for you or not...the book you can use to prepare for it is :

MySQL® 5 Certification Study Guide By Paul DuBois, Stefan Hinz, Carsten Pedersen
Publisher: Sams Publishing
ISBN: 0-672-32812-7

you'll only have to read a few chapters from this book to clear the Associate certification, to find out which chapters you need to read do some searching on the web...
I am preparing through this book for the MySQL developer certification..
yes, as far I know, there are 3 certifications related to MySQL :

MySQL Associate
MySQL Developer (Part I and II)
MySQL DB Admin (Part I and II)

Hi Alex,
I found the real exam easier than the mock exams...most of the questions were pretty straight forward...You have scored good enough on the whizlab mock exams I am sure you can get above 80% easily on the real exam.
But before going for the real exam do memorize the complete API and the can do that by downloading these files :
Here's the mail that I got :

Dear Sun Academic Initiative (SAI) member:

We are pleased to inform you that on January 27th, Oracle announced it finalized its acquisition of Sun Microsystems. Over the next few months, SAI will be integrated into the Oracle Academy, Oracle’s state-of-the-art technology program that provides education institutions with resources that prepare students for 21st century careers. Rest assured, your membership is important to us and we will keep you updated on any developments that affect the SAI program.

For now, we would like to provide you with an update on two key SAI benefits.

Certification Vouchers
All SAI members may purchase the $40 discount vouchers until March 31, 2010 at this link and redeem the vouchers at Prometric testing centers through the expiration dates. The voucher instructions and expiration dates are sent via email when members purchase the vouchers.

After March 31, 2010, all SAI members may obtain 40% off discount vouchers by emailing:

* Students must provide full name, institution name and country.
* Faculty must provide institution name, country and the desired number of vouchers.

Access to Sun Learning Connection
You will be able to access the SAI Learning Connection SkillPort portal until December 31, 2010.

We are working to integrate Sun resources into the Oracle Academy program and will keep you informed of any changes so you can continue to access the resources and tools you need.

If you’d like to learn more about the Oracle Academy, please visit

yes it is part of the exam...but for the exam all you need to know about STM is that it is a bad practice and should not be implemented...
@Sushant :
I suggest you purchase the discount voucher A.S.A.P because I received a mail from Oracle in which they had written that please make your purchase before 30 March, after 30th March the vouchers would be available at a discount of 40% only....

@ jothi : Any thing that does not cause a change is idempotent..for example : GET is idempotent because it is only used to get data not changed it...all the methods except POST are idempotent...

@ted :
Hey buddy.have a look at this thread, this might help you:
I gave my SCWCD today and passed with 81%
