Calling EJB's from Struts should be just like calling EJb's from any client, what you can actually do is in your struts you can take help of helper classes whose responsibilities are to call EJB and invoke the desired functionality. You call the helper classes from your Struts Action class execute method.
I was successful in integrating Struts Eclipse, weblogic should be the same for Jboss
If you just want to set attributes you could do that through deployment descriptors and no need to change from cmp to bmp but for isolation
unfortunately if you wanna use isolation you got to use bmp and manage your transactions, cause in no way you call tell container via deployment descriptor to use what level of isolation unless and until your app server vendor might have given you some special tool over regular j2ee spec.

this error will usually come when you have wrong mappings done in struts-config.xml, what basically happens is you try to submit your form to a url pattern like /submit.do but it does not find any entry in struts-config.xml

u should remember that in your jsp you have to write /url.do
and your struts-config.xml will have path like /url.

in your struts config.cml you should have some entry like

<action-mappings>
<action path="/submit"
type="example.stock.StockAction"
name="stockForm"
scope="request">
<forward name="success"
path="/result.jsp"/>
</action>
</action-mappings>

Hi,

Correct me if If I am wrong a reference to mbean is usually get by the mbean agent in which you register the name by which it can be called by remote clients as well as provide the detailed implementation.
In weblogic its done like that not sure of Jboss.
Hi,
Try this, include jaxb jar files in weblogic server classpath and you will be fine.
Session replication will only occur if you have a clustered version
this seems like you have two independent instance running. As they are not clustered aware they might not know each other sessions.
Hi David,
Indeed it was wrong, thanks for your help, I guess too much coffee for me
couldnt realize this simple mistake.

Hi ,
I am trying to call an EJB from struts action class, I used a POJO in delegating the struts calls to EJB and getting the result back, I tried the POJO through a command line client and its performing well, the problem is when I submit the form, The FormBean executes successfully as well as I can see that the constructor of ActionClass also executes, but thats it, then it stops and do nothing , I have put a println statement as the first line in execute method but that also is not executing.
I am using Bea weblogic 8.1

any suggestions. My action class is below

Hi,
Thanks for answering my question, I usually do that, but even if I have to change a line in jsp unless I am using an exploded archive , i have to completely rebuild the ear file which almost takes 5 min of my time, so if i am using an exploded archive structure the generation of class files does makes an important aspect of it. But thanks for your reply, as I am now sure that eclipse does not support that in current release .
use lomboz it has a built in jsp parser, it is a neat ,free and in there own words no magic tricks plugin and it deeply simplifies your task for j2ee development and supports hot deployment for all leading j2ee servers including jboss and bea weblogic .

Hi Bill ,
Is it possible that i can declare multiple source folders and can also specify the output directory ( where class files will be
generated) individually.
I am trying to emulate BEA split directory structure but still got stuck .
As eclipse will only take one folder as the output folder, and its a real pain chainging the source folder and output folder.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

But That would be good only in cases where you know before hand , how many checkboxes are there and what are there names, Imagine a scenario where the name is a same its a checkbox group and you do not know how many checkboxes are there as say they are populated from a database. In that case you can never be sure.

JSP
Hi,
I am facing a situation where i need to get states of non checked checkboxes besides checked one, as in my db all non checked will be stored as 'N' and all checked as 'Y'. Considering the fact that user can anytime make a checkbox state from on to off . I need to capture and update the db accordingly , any help would be highly solicited.
Thanks & regards,
