How do I print programmatically using Android?
7 years ago
I'm writing a Java wrapper library for a REST based web service. My question is, should the library reflect its behavior EXACTLY like the web service?

Sample prototype of the web service api call translated to java - getMessages(int startIndex, int numberOfMessages);

For instance, the web service will return an error response if the numberOfMessages parameter is more than 15.

Now,
1. Should I throw an exception from the library if the numberOfMessages parameter is greater than 15.

Or

2. Can I set the numberOfMessages parameter to 15 (the maximum value allowed) and make the api call.
Thank you very much. I just got through it. I generated the client rmi stub using Wsdl2java utility and used the service locator to access the services.

I want to send a public key generated by my j2me application to a j2se application running on my desktop.

In J2SE merely calling the getEncoded method returns the X509 encoded format of the key. How do I do the same in J2ME?

I am a Web service beginner. I have a few doubts please do enlighten me. I have written a web service based on axis. WSDL was automatically generated from the server code. After that I used the wsdl2java tool to generate code for my client application. Though the tool did a nice job, I have some uncertainties:

Uncertainty 1: Are these classes equal? I have two classes written in the server side, but in the code generated by the WSDL2Java tool there is only one! It doesn't even have the SERIAL ID

These classes are at the server-side: ParameterList.java and Parameter.java

Class generated by the wsdl2java tool. ParameterList.java

Yup I found the tool. I've also generated the code using wsdl2java. What next?

Thanks in advance.

I am using Axis 1. I'd like to do the following using java.

1. Discover all available services at the endpoint using java.
2. Construct request messages for each service with the information obtained form WSDL.

Could you enumerate it as sequences of steps for accomplishing my task.

Say for example, how do I construct a SOAP request for verifyLogin.

@Ulf Dittmer

I'm sorry I think I should rephrase the question. How do I construct a SOAP request for a web service using java. I have posted the WSDL generated using WTP.

@Jan Cumps thank you. I'll be careful next time.

Hi, I've deployed a web service using Eclipse WTP. What libraries should I choose in order to write a Swing Application to consume those web services. I have been trying this for a couple of days and came across a few code samples that use SOAP and Glue. But they don't seem very clear and I suppose they are out date. Could someone give me a rough idea on this.

Thank you David Newton.

Sorry, the mappings are:

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>Reindeer</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/admin</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>action</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

This one is causing problem with the Admin application (Vaadin), the page doesn't load properly. It doesn't work well with any other mapping except /*

Hi, I'm writing an application using Struts 1 and Vaadin. Struts 1 for the customers and Vaadin for the administrative panel. The application's working fine but I have trouble putting them together. If I change the servlet mapping for the Vaadin application, the CSS doesn't get loaded properly and thereby the Vaadin application looks and works weird. Could someone help me out of this??
