Hi all,

Even I have the same question. I am planning to give part I of OCMJEA and I donot know where to start. I have read a few topics here and understood that SCEA Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java EE Study Guide by Paul Allen, Joseph J. Bambara is something that everyone is mentioning. Do I start with that book or are there any other books I need to finish to refresh all the basic concepts and then go for exam preparation?

Also is there any difference between SCEA and OCMJEA (apart from the name) ? Are SCEA books still useful for OCMJEA?

Please help me with these questions, so I can start my journey towards OCMJEA.

Thank You,
Kakani.
Prepare well and do all the mock tests & ExamLab tests and be positive . You won't have the same nervousness this time as you already know how the test is going to be

The number of answers to choose will be mentioned, you can hit Previous to check the answers with an exception of task(drag & drop) questions, if you mark them and try to go back it will alert you that your answer will be lost.
Hey I wrote the exam last week and had 1 drag and drop question involving formatter and 1 multiple choice using parser.
Go for OCPJP 6 as thats the latest one.
No I didn't but earlier I wasn't able to login and do it. I don't know what changed but when I tried yesterday it worked So you might want to try again at a later time.. it might work.

There is always Web Component Development, or Java Micro Programming (for hand-held devices)...

Hey Sandra, Java Micro Programming sounds interesting, where can I find more information about it?

Hi all,

I am very happy to tell you guys that I have successfully passed my OCPJP with 88%.

I really want to thank you all for the helpful tips and quick responses to all my questions.

A very special thanks to @Devaka for creating a wonderful test simulator . ExamLab is a must for everybody preparing for the exam.

Thank you Wouter Oet and Pedro Kowalski for answering my questions.

Coming to the exam.

I got around 4 questions on synchronization(code testing), wait/notify(true/false questions).
None about serialization.
Collections/generics was very well covered(so spend more time on it).

Apart from this it was a fairly easy test.

Finally, I want to know what is the next step(certification) for me? any suggestions are hugely appreciated.

Thanks,
Kakani.

So if we are using more than one class/interface to describe a generic type the concrete class must come first and then the interface. I guess I need to go through generics once more. Thank you Wouter.
@Shanky I messaged Devaka about it. Thanks for the advice.
