Infamous? If you have any problems with the naming policy, feel free to open a separate thread here https://coderanch.com/forums/f-10/Ranch-Office.

well there is an address field which can be used, I had read it on some forum. Whenever i hit 192.168.1.100:8080 , i get page not found. My question is,Is there a way to assign an ip address to my tomcat server so i can access it in LAN, in my setup i am using a laptop , a pc and an ipod i tried pulling the tomcat homepage from my ipod and other computer but didnt get a reply.

I believe all people out there could help me to find a solution , if no , then no use of posting me.

I am using tomcat 7 on my windows 7 laptop, I tried changing the serverl.xml file and editting it with an additional "address" filed which has the static ip address of my computer. But whenever i hit http://192.168.1.100:8080" It doesnt work and it is only working on the loopback address and localhost which is the default host name. Please I am working on it and trying to get a solution from past 2 days. Somebody please help.

Thank you.
