Hi Medha,

Please note that Aug 27th deadline is not only for submitting your assignment(part-2) but also completing the essay (part-3). According to the mail, if you dont complete part-3 by Aug 27th and in case you receive a failing grade after Sep 30th, you have to take the training for resubmission.

Also I believe there is no such thing as correction, ie., you will either recieve a pass or fail grade and you will have to purchase the resubmission exam again if you get a failing grade.

The mail also states that only one attempt will be given in case you have completed part2 and 3 before Aug 27th and you receive a failing grade. If you fail again then you have to take the training before resubmission.

Shan
Hi,

Those who have taken part 3 recently (July/Aug) via PearsonVue, can you please clarify on the following points :

1. No of questions - 8?
2. Time provided - 120 mins?
3. Max no of words per question - 400?
4. What will show up in the score sheet - Fail with score 0/deferred/Pass with score 0

Thanks in Advance,
Shan
Got the response that I can upload directly from Pearsons site!...

Hi,

I purchased the SCEA part 2 exam on June 29 2011. When I wrote to architect-submit_US@oracle.com they mentioned that I need to get an voucher to upload the exam. But on Pearsons site, I see an option to click on continue -> a new screen loads -> click on next -> file upload, and it mentioned that voucher is required for purchases made before June 1st 2011.

Can I upload directly from Pearsons site, or do I need to get the voucher?. I have written to suncert_ww@oracle.com, but it may take 5 days to get an response.

If any one has purchased the exam after June 1st 2011 and uploaded the assignment, can you please let me know the process you followed.

Shan
Hi,

When you access an external webservice from the app server shielded by a DMZ, in the deployment diagram would it be correct to show the external webservice at the same level as the client system? This means the application server goes through the DMZ to access the external webservice.

Since HTTP(S) interactions are bidirectional, is it wise to show arrows pointing to the direction of request flow?

Cheers,
Shan
I am planning to highlight Availability during catastrophic failures as Risk with Mitigation plans documented.

However For 99.99% stated availability, is it expected that I plan for Disaster Recovery in the Deployment Diagram?
Hi,

I am planning to eliminate Managed Beans, Business Delegates, Service Locator and DAOs in the class diagram as it is seems to distract the reader from the entity class modelling. To do this I may have to show some indirect dependencies as direct ones (example Session Facade -> Entities, instead of Session Facade -> DAO -> Entities)- similar to what is shown in CADEs book. I would be putting some notes around this in my description. Do you think this would be fine?

Any comments from those who have cleared SCEA and followed a similar strategy would help.
