Saying that IT is important to Vopak would be an understatement. Automation already plays an essential part in all our processes, but with the rise of the internet-of-things and data analysis our field is about to get very interesting. As DevOps you will play a defining part in the future of our company and you will help us to retain a leading position in sustainability, safety and efficiency; a position we have built up over the past 400 years. We prefer not to fall in line – we create the line; our position at the forefront of innovation was recognised when we received the OutSystems Innovation Award 2016.

Working at Vopak

Your base of operations will be our head office in Rotterdam – your business card will read developer or engineer. As part of a scrum team, including some OutSystems gurus, you will develop and manage applications on the OutSystems PaaS platform. You will fill the role of developer or engineer in a team that is responsible for designing, implementing, releasing, deploying and configuring applications.

Our DevOps do not spend all of their time at their desks, and neither will you. Expect to be on the move, working directly with users of our applications: customer services, terminal operators and even captains. At our terminals, you will witness first-hand how your software solutions contribute to solving real-world challenges. And sometimes you will be abroad, attending courses or seminars. We know that variety keeps you on your toes, that is why you will have time to explore and experiment, to work on proofs of concept or your own projects.

Vopak is a relatively flat organisation; the atmosphere is pleasant and informal, but expect a lot of responsibility. Your supervisor will give you broad instructions from a distance, but you will be the owner of your projects.
