Took the test yesterday! Never expected to get full 100 cause I was not sure about 2-3 questions. And as expected they were on regex and collections, two of my weak spots!

I have been working as a Java Programmer for the last 18months. Started reading Kathy & Bert's book last year during December. It took me nearly 3months to go through all the chapters the first time.
I mostly read the PDF version so that I could simultaneously try out code samples and variations on Eclipse. With Eclipse as also with any other IDE, you get the API Docs quickly on hover/highlighting so that was a great help. The paper version of the book, though a bit heavy, was useful during my daily 2hrs commute

When I was done reading the first time, I took the mock test on the CD as well as the ones I found on the net. That proved to be a big eye opener! I had spent so much time on the supposedly mighty and difficult concepts (threads, collections) that I had forgotten the initial chapters and could not identify the simplest of errors. So I started going through the book a second time. This time I skimmed through the chapters, concentrating mainly on the excellent two minute drills and the code examples found throughout the chapters.
I skipped on regex and all the myriad collections during revision cause it took a lot of time. But, I gave a lot of mock tests in the last few weeks.

I dint get the drag and drop type questions on the actual exam. Also, one of the questions related to OO principles should have had multiple answers but was allowed to select only one.
(Dont remember the exact ques but I had chosen weak encapsulation as the answer).

Gonna start studying for the WCD exam now! Thanks to KS & BB and also to all the free mock tests online. (javacertifications, javachamp, etc) (and also to my Co. for reimbursing the exam fee ;) )
