hello everyone,
I want to know that whether i should show method with signatures or simply use methods name only in sequence diagram
Thanks.
hello all,
I hope some one reply to this post ,
i,m working on deployment diagram and want to know that what level of detail i should provide.

I know i have to provide the hardware configuration of the server,s like

¦ CPUs (number of cores, clock speed)
¦ RAM (quantity in GB)
¦ Network (minimum interface speed)
¦ Storage (disk/SAN configuration) for application as well as database server.

1. I want to know that, whether i put this information into the diagram or do in the cade's way like <<hardware profile A>>, if so than where to specify the details of hardware profiles in note or in a description below the diagram.
2. Do i need to show calculation for memories(RAM, hard disk) ?
3.if i have to show these calculations any web reference to know the calculation method.
4. Anything else that i have to show in the diagram.

thank you,

Hello everyone,
I want to know whether the application's compatibility for different types of web browser,s can be considered as a technical risk or not.

Thanks
Thank you for your response.
Few more things i like to know

1. If i use collaboration diagram instead of sequence diagram,do i need to give give reason why i choose collaboration diagram instead of sequence diagram.
In my assignment it is mentioned that "Create either a Sequence or Collaboration diagram for each use case provided".
And i feel comfortable in collaboration diagram.

2.For risk and mitigation, "i have to find the risk before designing the architecture and mitigate in the architecture" or "first i have to design the architecture than find the risk and give mitigation strategies."

Hope any one reply this.

thank you.

I want to know about the amount of details in the uml diagrams in the ocmjea part2 assignment.

1. if i,m using jsf in the presentation and since a master controller is present in the jsf implicitly.
I,m planning to skip the controller in the class diagram and show xhtml and managed beans instead.

2. In which diagram i have to show the business interfaces for session beans in the class diagram or component diagram

3.Suppose i have a session bean which is interacting with a web service,do i need to show the DAO in the class diagram or in component diagram.

I have read cade's chapter 9 and try to follow it ,but the diagrams are not uml complaints and filled with errors also.

i need suggestions on how to do this correctly.
thanks to all for your reply,
- Which UML version i supposed to use in diagrams 1.0 or 2.0 ?

- regarding sterotypes in class diagram which is most appropriate way specific to JEE
like, i write <<entity>> or <<@entity>> ?

- I know it is common, but i would like to discuss it,
is it fine to add some more entities in the class diagram if i feel it is necessary ?, for example i find some new entities in the use cases which are not in BDM

- one question for those who read the "Mark Cade and Humphrey Sheil second edition" book's chapter 9.
what are those classes which are un stereotyped and without any attribute and operation
like characteristics class , bidder and seller class
i think they are pojo's

thank you
Hello All,
Can anyone tell me which UML tool i use to show web pages(jsp/jsf) in the class diagram.
i want to know the UML representation of jsp/jsf pages.

i need to discuss this,

1. The uses cases in my assignment(Factory homes) are talking about selecting component from category and then system responds with product details and availability/applicability of the product.

The question arises in my mind is that why product word is used here instead of component. are both are same? and I have to enlist it in our assumptions list.

Do the "Product class" in BDM is the same "product" used in the use cases or different.

2. The "Use case 1" and "use case 2" is using the word "current house design" for selecting and adding the component in the "current house design".

But actually, in the "Use case 3" the customer is selecting a "house design".

I want to know that what are those "house designs" which are used in use case 1 and use case 2, because the customer is getting chance to choose "house design" in use case 3.

In use case 1 and use 2 the customer is choosing components independent of the "house design" because he chooses the "house design" in use case 3.But the "step 4" in use case 1 and use case 2 is saying that:

"system responds with the product detail and availability/applicability of the product based on the current house design".

The last underlined sentence let me to understand that the customer had already chosen the "house design" which is not the case.

Anyone who had done the factory homes assignment can answer my questions easily.

thanks for reply,

Hello all,
I successfully passed the ocmjea part-1 with 85%.

i have downloaded the assignment and started working on it.
I,m average in UML diagrams but i find in "mark and cade's" chapter nine a dummy assignment, where diagrams are quit oriented to j2ee only, like adding jsp pages in class daigrams, using jsp pages in sequence diagrams.
So i,m trying to follow it.

I need some guidelines from the already passed candidates regarding my assignment now and in future.

i want to know that
-which is the suitable diagram for implementing design patterns, and where to explain about design patterns.
-any book or web resources where i can get information for designing j2ee specific architecture
-

thanks,

proceed with other use cases with certainty.

i also got same assignment and find that use case-1 and use case-2 have different "brief description" but same "basic flow".
do you find any clarification for it from oracle. or is it fine?

Luay Abdulraheem wrote:well, I simply considered the Product to be an Uncompleted Design Object.

i think, the product is the collection of components (floor, roof, wall, window doors) which is chosen by the customer during selecting the component from the categories.
USE CASE-1 is repeated several times for the selection of different components (floor, roof, wall, window doors) from different categories. and all comes in the product when selection of components is finished and thus remaining action is just to commit the selected components in the product to form a complete house design.

congratulations to u.
do you find any question in the exam which is not included in the exam objectives?

hello everyone,
Please tell me that from the list of objectives for 1Z0-864 exam . The no. of questions that will come in the exam are equal from each section or they differ?

thank you very much
