How are you authenticating the user id and password in the code??
Hi Alex,
I think it would help us to understand your exact problem if you could post the code.
Hope it is not some copy righted code though

Hi Alex,

I did not exactly understand your question but if you mean you want to know the server IP that answered the request then you can get it through 'request.getServerName()'.This method is in the interface ServletRequest. If not this and you want to find the Client IP then you can get it through 'request.getRemoteAddr()'. Hope this is of any help.

I don't know if this logic of mine would work out for you but I had once the same problem and what I did was use the taglib to give me a button image(without link) and instead add the link and javascript code in the jsp page where I was displaying the button image.

hi Richard,
congrats ...u must have really worked hard to give all the exams in such short time...
can u tell me how u studied and what u studied for good learning of j2ee concepts and how much time did it take for u to prepare for test 488...
and also did u follow the ibm website's self study plan...does it help with the real exam ?
thanks in advance...
Mounika
hi ,
can anybody give me any info about how to register for websphere test 488 ...where to register and where will the test be conducted....is there a chance of preponing or postponing etc....
I have tried few sites but couldn't get all the info....
thanks in advance...
Mounika
hi Nosa,
u're thought is reasonable and surely no one can master the objectives for 488 in 2 months....I know that especially preparing 4 months for SCJP2....but sometimes u can even do that in 2 months if u have the right will even if u're new to java and there is never harm in trying

hi ranchers,
I would be greatfull if somebody gave any info on how to start for the test 488 preparation...having a little prior knowledge on EJB/JSP/Servlets and what resources or books to follow....
I have recently given my SCJP2 a week ago and I want to be certified in 488 in 2 months....
so any info would be great...
thanks in advance....

hi ranchers,
I have made it through certification exam with 96 %...
thanks to all the people who moderate and take care of this site....it is a really great site...
and of all I should thank valentin for the prompt replies....
In the exam I had one question which wanted me to identify "is-a" relationships among the choices...
but I learnt that implementing interface makes the
relationship..."is-like-a"...
but in the exam it was one of the inevitable choices because of others being false....so I selected it...
but it wasted a lot of time for me....so better be aware of such things....
thanks all again...
will be around

I am just so panicked about what should I revise now in the last stage...I searched for topics on this and found some tutorials .....
Could u people link me to any threads which tell the topics to be revised in the last minute and also how good is Dylan Walsh's tutorial for this....it would be a help if u could give links to any other good ones....
thanks in advance...
