For funding etc., the name escapes me but there is an online almost venture capital source.. damn it..
Do you mean kickstarter?
I just figured out where to find tons of cheap artists, or rather I googled and found some information: deviantart and newgrounds. I actually new about deviant art before, I spend a lot of time on that site, but I didn't remember/realize that it would be a good place to find artists.
But I wonder, is it easy to find serious people out there? So far I've contacted about a dozen people and written some forum posts looking for people, and the two people so far who've been interested in my idea have seemed immature and crazy. One of them wanted me to join some money making scheme where you post posts and make thousands of dollars each month, and the other suggested that ignoring obvious flaws in a stupid idea he had that he wanted me to do with him was somehow negative or something. My point is 2 out of 2 people who've been interested so far were crazy/immature, am I attracting the wrong people here? Why isn't any people I contact even answering my emails.
I'm doing things in the wrong way, I'm certain of that. And I really don't wanna waste time on making a Matlab clone since there already is a freeware Matlab clone out there that looks quite spiffy. So I should be doing something more akin to the things you see on softwareforkids.com, seems like I'm looking for someone who knows pedagogy, someone who knows art, someone who knows how to make interactive kids stories. I think I'm incoherent or something, oh well, I always admired "special" people, time to become one (*snapping*)
But wait a moment, the internet is huge, could it really be that I'm the only unemployed guy who's looking for other unemployed people in order to do a product together? Thanks for the responses so far btw, I appreciate them. Wait, I just realized something, whenever I hear about other people's "good ideas" I figure they're just naïve (how many words are there in our language with an ï in it?) and I disregard them.
Oh, and one more thing that I havn't figured out yet, does anyone know of a place where I can chat with people who make books for kids?
