I'm a JSF newbie

I have a form with a dropdown; I want to pass my selection on the "fly" to the backing bean by using Ajax4JSF;

Unfortunately I'm not able to able to pass on the "fly"; However form submit seems to work

Here's my code snippet:

I appreciate any suggestions, feedback

TIA

JSF
The problem used to be because I had compiled JBoss-Seam with JDK 1.6; I recomplied with JDK 1.5.0_12 and I was able to overcome the problem

My set-up:
Tomcat 6.0, embedded-jboss-beta2, jdk1.0.5_06, win XP SP2

I'm trying to deploy jboss-seam-registration; I guess I'm terribly confused with components.xml & components.properties mumbo-jumbo described here

JBoss Forums

Appreciate any ideas on solving is this problem.

Dear Java Ranchers,

I have a Tree with a CustomRenderer say NodeRender

NodeRenderer is a Box (NodeBox) with 3 JLabels and a JProgressBar.

In my getTreeCellRendererComponent() I'm registering the tree with ToolTipManager:

I'm able to set toolTipText for the NodeBox (i.e. Box component) and it works alright.

However I'm not able to set toolTipText for individual labels inside my Box. I tried the following:

1> registering these labels directly with ToolTipManager

2> setting toolTipText() directly for e.g. nodeRenderer.NodeBox.label1.setToolTipText(someToolTipText);

3> Tried to access the component from the Box

Nothing seems to help. Would appreciate any feedback, pointers

Regards,

Never Mind,

I actually separated my TreeCellRenderer and the Box; So basically I build the entire Box on the fly; so depending on the level of my node; I can set the glue. Thanks for all who responded.

Micheal;
That Doesn't seem to work for me:

Basically my GUI looks like this:

Root < fixed strut> Button
------Child1 <fixed strut> Button
------------Child1.1 < fixed strut> Button

Whereas what I want to do:
Root < variable strut> Button
------Child1 < variable strut> Button
------------Child1.1 < variable strut> Button

Any Ideas???

Well;

Glue works but I need a dynamic control of the space. All I want to do is to set the space (i.e gap) between components dynamically. I'm sure its possible isn't it? Am I something here...

Hello Ranchers,

I'm using a Box (box) as my custom TreeRenderer; I'm using a Horizontal Strut with in this box to get some padding between a "label" and a "button"

Can you please suggest ideas on dynamically setting the width for the strut? Is there any other component that I could use for the same purpose? Basically I want all the Buttons in box aligned starting from some point; no matter the depth of the node

Thanks in advance

After careful debugging I found setIconImage() to cause Exceptions
here's my code

Can somebody point to be what causes this problem? That too only when accessed remotely??

Hello Ranchers,

I have a swing application running on RH 9, Intel 86 box with Java 1.4; I access this application from my laptop Windows XP through XManager 1.3

However when I migrated to Java 1.5; I am getting the following exception.[Of course I compiled my program with JDK 1.5].

All comments/feedback dearly appreciated. Please let me know if its not the right forum for this query.

Hi Ranchers!!!

when does new SCJP 5.0 vouchers become available? I know right now its $200 but in my experience SUN gives a 10% discount voucher once in a while. Since I don't intend to take up the exam until March 07 I wish to wait for the discount voucher; any ideas on when the discount vouchers will become available?

Hi Ranchers!!!

Can somebody throw some light on resources for Runtime.getRuntime().exec()
viz.
1> How to debug it?
2> How to pass unicode characters as parameters?
3> Any special adjustments for different platforms?

Sorry I have asked this question in this post too:
part of previous post

Thanks Sheriff

I have tried with unicode escape characters also... no difference...

I guess Java Compiler expecting ISO-Latin1 characters is a major problem

I tried compiling

Do you guys think... that I need to do more along these lines?

Any tools available to debug Runtime.getRuntime().exec()?

Any Books with details on Runtime.getRuntime()?

Any resources on "cmd.exe /c" & java
