Hello,

I have a total of 10yrs of IT experience (all with my current company). I have been into J2EE development/maintenance projects all this while.
For the last 6yrs I have been leading a team of an avg size of 5. Had been in the US for a client assignment for the last 3yrs and have come back to offshore last month.

My Dilemma -
1. Though I have been a project lead for quite some time now, I dont see my promotion (to Project Manager) happening in the next year. That will make it a very high time for me if I keep waiting endlessly. Most of my peers in this company have got promoted to manager last yr itself. So that would add a lag of 2-3 yrs in my career. I suppose I can switch to another one and probably get a manager's position there.
My question - how do I prepare for the interview. my lead exp so far has been more of ensuring a smooth project delivery by tracking the day to day task. I havent done much of project management activities. Though I have done resource onboarding, appraisals etc.

2. Also, I am keen on moving into funtional domain. I am particularly interested in banking domain and would like to move into that stream. But I do not know how and what will I have to do to get there. Also, what is the nature of the job that the Domain consultants (are they equivalent to managers ?) do. Will I need to do any additional certifications/courses to get there.

Thanks in advance !!
