Hi,
I am learning spring step by step from the link
http://docs.spring.io/docs/Spring-MVC-step-by-step/part1.html
Here in step 1 itself they are asking us to build the developed applications using ant build tool. There is a folder called war in my application developed in eclipse IDE. below is my build script.
build.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<project name="springApp" basedir="." default="usage">
<property file="build.properties"/>
<property name="src.dir" value="src"/>
<property name="web.dir" value="war"/>
<property name="build.dir" value="${web.dir}/WEB-INF/classes"/>
<property name="name" value="springApp"/>
<path id="master-classpath">
<fileset dir="${web.dir}/WEB-INF/lib">
<include name="*.jar"/>
</fileset>
<!-- We need the servlet API classes: -->
<!-- * for Tomcat 5/6 use servlet-api.jar -->
<!-- * for other app servers - check the docs -->
<fileset dir="${appserver.lib}">
<include name="servlet*.jar"/>
</fileset>
<pathelement path="${build.dir}"/>
</path>

when i run ant all the echo messages are shown in the command prompt.
But when i run "ant deploy", its creating a classes folder alone in the war folder. Its not copying web.xml to war folder. Also in the deploy target it is scripted to move the app to the tomcat/webapps folder. The same is also not done.but it says BUILD SUCCESSFUL.
I am confused as why the web.xml is not copied to the war folder.
Thanks in advance
