You approach is very right, especially reading the API and practicing.

Thanks Aleksandra!
I started to study Spring + Hibernate : if you are doing the same do you have some suggestions about some good manuals or is it preferable to do Spring + Hibernate tutorials online?

Could you share the scores of your Enthuware test? thanks.

Hi guys,
I give you my feedback about Whizlabs and Enthuware in OCAJP and OCPJP: I passed OCAJP with a score 81% using both Enthuware + Whizlabs whose difficulties seemed equal to me and harder then certification questions by about 10%.

Preparing OCPJP, I found Whizlabs 10% harder than Enthware and Enthuware equals to the certification questions.
I passed Enthware with an average of 65% and Whizlabs with an average of 55%.
After that, for another month, I implemented almost all of the Enthuware +Whizlabs exercises on IntelljIDEA with many changes and read very well Mala Gupta OCJP MEAP + many Java APIs: this training made the difference when I passed OCJP with 93%.

Hello guys!
When I started studying the 1Z0-804 exam, the only text available was the Ganesh - Sharma "Certified Professional Java SE 7 Programmer Exams 1Z0-804." It 'a useful book but I prefer Mala Gupta "OCP Java SE 7 Programmer II Certification Guide".
According to me if you study very well the Mala Gupta book, which covers all the exam topics, and you do all the Enthuware OCPJP exercises, you can pass the exam without any problems with a great result.
I also suggest to implement some exercises on an IDE and to read many Java APIs .
Good luck!

Hi all!
I prepared the exam using Mala Gupta manual + Enthuware & Whizlabs practical tests.
I carefully read many Q & As written on this forum and I found them very interesting: I would like to thank you all for your valuable advice.
I took about three months to prepare this exam that I passed today with a score of 81%.

I think the manual and tests have allowed me to study in depth java basics. All the topics in the manual are described in a very clear way and the Enthuware and Whizlabs practice tests helped me tremendously.
Two days ago I did the last Whizlabs test, I got a score of 72% and yesterday I re-read the entire manual.
Last night I slept well and this morning I started the examination at 10.30.

I made two major mistakes during the exam preparation and I describe them so maybe it can help you in your preparation.
I tried the test twice: the first time I studied for a month and I tried the exam after reading the manual only once and doing only some exam tests found on the internet. Before the first attempt I didn't do Whizlabs and Enthuware tests and I got a score of 55%: I had the impression that my preparation was still confused.
So I reread the manual two other times and I did all the Whizlabs & enthuware tests.
To prepare The OCP Java SE 7 Programmer certification as the first step I will study very carefully the manual without wasting time with the exam tests found on the internet and after that I will do the practice tests.

I believe that studying java in depth is very useful because we do not want to miss the beginning of the age of spiritual machines ...

Thanks again

Dear Roel De Nijs,
I'd very appreciate if you can help me.
I have two questions regarding the certification:
1) can you eventally confirm that the certification is really appreciated during job interviews and selections?
2) I would like to ask for advice about the exam preparation: I did the enthuware exarcises but answering 45 questions at a time in about an hour and a half with a 72% score.
Then I tried to do the exam but I only got a 50% score.
where am I doing wrong?
Have I to train to do the whole exam questions in 150 minutes, or I have to reread and study the manuals in a better way?
Thank you for your help
Luca
