9 bucks for a free book? Naah, I got an actually free link to the book.

Do share, please.

Paweł Baczyński wrote:If by OCPJP7 you mean 1Z0-804 Java SE 7 Programmer II exam then I can't answer your question.
I have not passed this exam. I have passed 1Z0-805 Upgrade to Java SE 7 Programmer.
In my opinion 1Z0-810 was easier. And now Oracle decided to remove Nashorn from exam topics so it is less material to study compared to beta.

Yes, I meant 1Z0-804. Thanks for your thoughts.

Paweł Baczyński wrote:Here you can see what I have used.

By the way, the code of this exam is 1Z0-810. 1Z1-810 was the code of beta exam which is no longer available.

Thanks Pawel. Yes, I had noticed your post. Hoping I would get more inputs as well.

BTW, How do you compare it to the OCPJP7 exam, in terms of difficulty. For me OCPJP7 was quite tough.
I have done the OCPJP7 and now would like to target the Upgrade exam to OCPJP8 next.

I don't see many posts on this exam as yet. Can someone please recommend the best resources (books, websites and mock exams) for it? Thanks
Java EE7 was released around mid-2013, i.e., 2 years ago. Still the latest WSD is on EE6; released in 2009 - 6 years ago!!!

What is the best way to find out when Oracle is planning to release the EE7 certifications?

I am aware of the Beta exams page
Beta Exams page

However, that doesn't give you information in much advance. Any other source that might indicate earlier?

Yes, I already saw that post and posted a question there too.

I have gone through pretty much most of the WSD posts on this forum but can't find any specific material for the EJB objectives. Hence my question.
Hi Andrew,

thanks. I know nothing about EJB so full-length books/notes on EJB may not be of much use/efficient to me. What I was hoping for that if someone could mention what sections of EJB are relevant for the Web Services exam, specifically relevant to the above two objectives that I mentioned in the Original post? I am preparing for the WS exam.
which one do you recommend, Andrew?
ok thanks Wang. If its not directly relevant for the exam, I will skip it for now.
Congratulations Wang. Great score!!

I have gone through Web Services Up and Running, MZ and Ivan notes. For the Restful Java with JAX-RS, could you please mention the relevant chapters for the exam not covered by the resources that I already have? Thanks a lot.
I have passed the OCPJP7 and OCEJ6WCD however I have no experience in EJB. I have covered almost all the objectives for the OCEWSD6 exam except for the EJB component related ones:-

* Create a SOAP based web service implemented by an EJB component
* Create a RESTful web service implemented by an EJB component

Anyone could let me know which books/resources/websites would cover the above two objectives? Thanks
Hey Abraham,

Congratulations on passing the exam. Could you please list the books/material that you used to prepare for this exam? Thanks

Patrick,

Do you have any prior work experience in JSP/Servlet? How comfortable are you on these two?

It will be extremely hard, close to impossible. Off the top of my head:
1) Enthuware Mock Exam (based on previous experience with other exam exam - they are very helpful)
2) Head First Servlets & JSP 2nd Edition (NOTE: it's for previous version of specification, take a note of it...)

I see that you already got an advice above from MZ, one of the most trusted and reliable advisors on this forum. In addition, to the above two resources, I referred to "OCEJWCD Study Companion: Certified Expert Java EE 6 Web Component Developer (Oracle Exam 1Z0-899)" book for the newer topics NOT covered by Head First.
