Zo doe je dat als Data & Technology trainee bij DNB

Als trainee van het Data & Technology trainee programma wissel je, gedurende twee jaar, drie keer van functie en afdeling. Je draait volop mee in de specialistische teams en maakt zo kennis met development, data science en security bij DNB én je volgt trainingen gericht op technische verdieping en persoonlijke ontwikkeling.

Je werkt steeds een periode van acht maanden mee in een team en rouleert tussen de domeinen data, development en security. Je wordt binnen deze domeinen betrokken bij bijvoorbeeld onderzoeken naar datakwaliteit, de ontwikkeling van applicaties voor het toezicht op financiële instellingen of bij cyber security projecten. Dat kan bij verschillende afdelingen:

• Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de data-afdeling, waar met moderne data science technieken, zoals R en Python, relevante inzichten worden verkregen om zo te voorspellen welke impact bepaalde ontwikkelingen in Nederland (denk aan de huidige Coronacrisis) hebben op partijen die onder toezicht staan van DNB.
• Of de afdeling monetair, gericht op het handhaven van een robuuste, betrouwbare en veilige dienstverlening van het betalingsverkeer, het reservebeheer en de uitvoer van tenderoperaties.
• Of de afdeling Statistiek, waar gegevens worden verzameld en verwerkt van financiële instellingen en bedrijven, die de input vormen voor nationale en Europese statistieken.
• En wat dacht je van ons Cyber Defense Center? Zij zijn verantwoordelijk voor het bewaken van de ICT infrastructuur van DNB voor cyberaanvallen, en de uitgifte en het beheer van autorisaties.

Als trainee besteed je doorlopend tijd aan jouw ontwikkeling, onder andere door inhoudelijke opleidingen en vaardigheidstrainingen. Soms doe je dit individueel, maar vaak ook met je medetrainees. As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of the key Middleware Software that underpins the performance, availability, and integrity of our Combat Management Systems. Purpose

The Infrastructure and Operations division is responsible for managing technology and services in the following IT areas: end-user, productivity tools and devices, service desk, network and datacentre operation, monitoring - automation - orchestration of infrastructure technologies, databases, and IT operations. The division provides strong technical, process and service management expertise as well as project management skills and business analysis capabilities.

Key figures about scope: approx. 5,000 users including staff members and external staff, 6,000 workstations in 7 offices in Luxembourg and almost 50 external offices outside Luxembourg, private cloud composed of 2,000 virtual servers in state of the art active-active datacenters located in Luxembourg. In the Infrastructure and Operations Division there is around 20 EIB agents (with 4 Head of Units), however the division also manages approximately 100 consultants.

In this role you will have an opportunity to develop and manage the IT Infrastructure & Operations activities in the areas of: end-user, productivity tools and devices, service desk, network and datacentre operation, monitoring - automation - orchestration of infrastructure technologies, databases, and IT operations in order to support efficiently the Bank business applications and the related technology, infrastructure and data communication needs, thereby contributing to the achievement of the EIB objectives.
Operating Network

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Transversal Services Head of Department and in direct contact with the other Heads of Division in IT, and with business leaders who are involved in projects and initiatives led by the Infrastructure & Operations Division. You will also manage contracts and vendors to maximise the quality of delivery provided to EIB.

Accountabilities

• Contribute in a pro-active way to the development of an overall strategy for the IT function with the alignment to the business strategy of the organisation and external IT trends and developments
• In collaboration with IT divisions and business users, define work programmes to implement the agreed strategic initiatives and builds successful stakeholder relationships with other IT and business leaders

Qualifications

• University degree, preferably in computer science or information technology related domain
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in complex IT Infrastructure environments
• Experience in managing and coaching staff, ideally in multicultural environments or international organisations (e.g. contribution to: determining team resources and skills; establishing objectives; assessing performance; delegating and supervising tasks; guiding, motivating, coaching and providing feedback)
• Previous experience in managing large structure teams consisting of internal and external staff would be an advantage
• Experience with Infrastructure technologies (end-user, productivity tools and devices, service desk, network and datacentre operation, monitoring - automation - orchestration of infrastructure technologies, databases,  IT operations)
• Proven record of project management success, both in results achieved and in use of different  methodologies
• Solid experience in managing IT infrastructure services, using different delivery models

Purpose

The (Senior) Data Warehouse Officer, (internally referred to as (Senior) Officer- IT Applications) will be responsible for designing, developing, optimising and maintaining EIB Group data warehouse extractions in line with industry best practices and latest banking regulation standards and actively work on the alignment of the platform with BCBS239 standards, with a special focus on risk management data and systems.

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure that the enterprise data warehouse is in line with the IT policies and define a unified approach for developing ETL data quality jobs within the enterprise data warehouse;
• Organise, structure and lead IT projects under own responsibility and ensure their delivery within the planned time, scope and budget by anticipating issues and taking mitigation actions;

Qualifications

Would you like to play a key role in the design, development, integration and test of the Shared Infrastructure software? We currently have a vacancy for a  C# Software Engineer at our site in New Malden.

As a C# Software Engineer, you will be working within an Agile software development environment, writing new code for a number of Shared Infrastructure  products.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to design and develop software across the whole lifecycle and for it to be used on board multiple platforms, including Royal Navy ships.

Your main responsibilities as a C# Software Engineer will involve:

Participating in capturing requirements, designing, implementing and testing of software for the Shared Infrastructure system.

Preparing specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards.

Responsibility of the production of C# software under an Agile process to company coding standards

Carrying out complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.

Conducting peer review of colleagues software

Responsibility of the production of test schedules to enable testing of software you have developed

Unit and System testing of software that you have produced.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent qualification/experience held in a technology, engineering or science related discipline  

Either registered as an Incorporated or Chartered engineer / relevant Professional body or willing to gain qualification

Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment

C# experience

Agile development process experience

Being able to work to timescales and deliver a quality product

Desirable:

WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) experience

• Significant experience using software verification principles, processes and tools and working within safety-critical development constraints (e.g. DO-178B/C).
• Experienced in tool development in environments such as Eclipse and M2M and M2T transformation technologies and understands modular embedded software architectures, middlewares and real-time operating systems.
