Kindly inform, what is the method to call this function in a written in a jsp file when a button is clicked. There are rows in a table which have these buttons on which i am planting the onclick function. The parameter passed to the method called in the onclick cant be a scriptlet? Any alternate ways?

If i have properly understood u r question, this could be u r answer.

U can use scriplets inside u r javascript function call as follows

<A href='editGroupAccess("<%=editGroupAccessId%>")'><img src="C:\Documents and Settings\murad\Desktop\onclicktag.jpg"/></A>

Where editGroupAccessID is a java variable which can be initialized to certain value using normal java code. It will be replaced by normal javaScript function parameter when page is converted to html.

Hi guys
Iam using jstl for the first time. Iam using tomcat 5.0.25. When i try to use EL with some tag say <c ut/> the whole thing ${....} is sent to the ouput buffer.
Take for e.g. the code given below:
<c:forEach var="i" begin="1" end="10" step="1">
<c ut value="${i}" /><br />
</c:forEach>

It prints ${i} 10 times..
looking forward for help...

Thanks

Iam not sure if the error at apache statup is because of configuration error
Has anybody come across this problem ?

i am using tomcat 3.2.1 on Redhat linux 7.3.
After starting tomcat, when i check out the processes running on the machine using ps -ax, i see lots of java processes. All these processes seem to be taking up lots of resources. Is there any way of reducing the number of processes.
Thanks

hi guys
I have a problem when i use RequestDispatcher.forward(). I have used the following url pattern for the login servlet
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>Logger</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/servlet/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
What i want to do is, after authenticating in the servlet, i want to forward it to some jsp page in the document root. However, when i forward from the servlet it opens the page as [document root]/servlet/pagename.jsp, and due to this the images on the jsp page are not found as they are in the [document root]/img folder.
I am using tomcat 4.1.
Please help me tackle this problem.

hello,

I have created a binary file using VC++.this file consists of data in terms of user-defined objects(structures).

Now I need to retrieve this data using java.since the objects were not serialized i am unable to do so.

Actually I need some function in java compatible to the following in C++

ifstream in;
in.open("filename");
in.read((char*)&objectname,sizeof(object));

please suggest some way in which i can do so in java.

thanking you ,
