Hi All
We are in the process of finalizing between JSP or coldfusion....
I have been asked to describe the comparison both. I HAVE NO IDEA OF COLDFUSION... i am always for JSP pages...Can some of you who have worked in both tell me why you choose oneover the other...What are the factors i should look into....catches etc...
Where to get some more information on that.
Please help...I am lost

Dear All
I am asked to write Windows NT services for an application using threads.
The application is written on JDK1.1.8 and is command prompt based application. I need to convert the application using NT services that the application can be started without the user having to go through the command line options.
What is the best way of going about solving this problem. Can some one help me to locate some suitable web sites related to it.
Thanking you all

Hi All
I am a SCJP,SCJD and now having a masters degree in software Engineering. My basics is Mechanical Engineering. From my first experience at javaranch till now i have a long back. I have now a very good sense of IT environment than i did few years back.
I migrated to Australia 2 weeks back and searching for a Java related job. How ever till now i am not very successful. Every body seeing my M.Sc degree expects me do full system analysis and design they expect me to know all the Java API'S.
I want to start as a middle level developer but every body just confuses me into team lead etc. etc.

I know if given a project i can refer to the appropriate API I can do the job.How ever when the interviewer asks me have you used such a such API i say yes or no depending upon the API
if i say no they just discard me. What should i do.
I also need to some help in REDOING MY RESUME.
Can somebody avice me on certain questions they were being asked in their interview.
How do you all answer to something you don't know in IT Interview.
When should i say such an API is my Skill. etc.
Can you all experienced person help me with my job search.. I am finding my self very lonely and frightened here.
Please Help.

Hi All
I have taken my beta exam on the 8th...The exam had 9 survey questions and 109 test questions to be completed in 135mins.
The question are not difficult and appropriate number od correction selction is also adviced. However one needs to be quite familiar with Servlets,JSP,Design Patterns J2EE ETC.
Those who intend to take the real exam when it is released can conatct me at
jaydev@pc.jaring.my
for detailed insight.
My personal opinion..
Just preparing for this exam may not make you really competent in the web applicaton developemnt..there is whole lot more to it
However it is good in order to be familiar with a wide spectrum of J2EE related technologies.
To briefly sum up the exam
JSP tags and custom lib synatx
Design Patterns advantages and usage
Servlets GET POST methos related questions
Servlet interfaces..
Hope this may be useful to those who are considering taking this real exam
Best of luck

which oracle certification are u getting...if you are looking into the oracle java professional track than you may need to pick up a few pieces of new technologies only..How ever if you are coming purely from db background than you may need to get a good grip on html concepts,XML,WML...Apart from this my personal opinion is that a knowledge of HCI issues with hand held devices is very important for a developer venturing in this field.

Hi all i am curious to know whether there is any site which compares these three technologies...Especially looking from the point of Business application suitabilty which can make use of existing backend data.....
