Dear all, I am building an editor with intellisense. My design is as follows: When i type DOT, a Dialog box pops up at the position of the DOT containing the required items. This much I have implemented. Now there is a problem: As seen in many editors with intellisense(if possible please refer to JBuilder), when the popup window appears then the text editor has the focus i.e characters can be typed into it and also by the movement of cursor keys the items in the pop-up list box can be selected. So it seems as if the pop-up window is the child window of the text-editor window and the text-editor window delegates events to the pop-up window while itself remaining active. Can anybody please suggest me how to implement it? Thanks in advance
Hi all, I am accessing a Database column of ORACLE which contains a user-defined type(object) of Oracle. The type contains a NUMBER and a VARCHAR2 field. I have used the "getObject" method of the ResultSet to get the column in a STRUCT object. From this I am able to get the value of the NUMBER field, but I couldn't get the value of the VARCHAR2 field properly. Can anybody pls tell me how to do it. I am using Oracle8i driver version 1.1. Dear all, I have to design a Struts application. In this I have to do 2 types of validations(for a login form): 1) To check whether a field is empty or not. 2) To check whether the user and password match or not. Now, as far as I understand Struts, for the first type of validation I should use "validate" method of the ActionForm, and, for the second type of the validation, I should use the "execute" method and redirect the user to a different JSP page if the login is invalid. Now using "validate" method is a server-side validation and the validations inside a "execute" method is also a server-side validation. So if I validate the username and the password in the "validate" method, is it right? If not what difference will it make in case of implementation as well as design. Please clear the difference between validating in a ActionForm and in a Action class. I am very confused in it. Thanks in Advance
Dear all, Can anybody please tell me that whether it is possible to find whether a component(say a TextField) is totally inside the ScrollPane's visible region or not. Actually the problem is that I have many textfields inside a panel which is inside a ScrollPane. Now whenever the focus goes to any textfield then I want to check that whether the TextField is completely visible or not. If not then I want to programatically scroll so that the textfield is visible. Please guide me on how to do this. Thanks and Regards

I am having a tabbed pane. In one of it's tabs I have a panel with the GridBagLayout as the layout manager. Now when I am adding a Label and a textbox pair then they are added in the center of the panel. I want the Label and the textbox pair to get added from the top of the panel. How can I do that?
Sorry I didn't provide sufficient information. When given without the 3 dots(java -ea:foo.sampleprogs), the ea flag is ignored silently and hence the assertions are disabled(as they are disabled by default). Nothing special happens and the execution proceeds normally.
