You have used

PreparedStatement sql;

in your code but you are not using variable sql anywhere in your code.

Try removing that line.

I'm new to Websphere Application Server.

I just installed WSAD on Windows XP. But I can't start the application server. It gives following errors in activity log file:

Has anyone taken Java test from Qwiz.

The company I'm trying to get job as told me to take Qwiz test for
Java2 Programming (R6).

Anybody has any idea how the test is? What do they cover in the test ?

Just want to be prepared as much as I can.

Thanks

Hi !
I'm new to j2ee. I just downloaded and installed it. When I went through its tutorial, it's about a converter ejb.
I started j2ee successfully.
used deploytool
Then, I used "ant converter" on my command prompt which gives me error in dialogbox with heading "16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem"
Error is :
C:\windows\system32\ntvdm.exe
Error while setting up environment for the application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
and build fails...
Can anyone help me please ? I'm using WindowsXP.
Should I use Tomcat instead of j2EE ? Should I use Weblogic ? I can install and start Weblogic successfully, can deploy ejb in it successfully but don't know exact methodology to be followed for an application to be built in it.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the information, milind.

Hi all,
I agree with the persons who says that actual development experience is considered to get the job whereas getting certified may be just to be considered to be interviewd.
Whatever I think and i feel after getting certified, I feel more confident about myself. And the important thing is that, you are not able to get the experience until you get the job of that type, but getting certified is on your hand. This is the thing you can do on your own without working as a programmer and you can open the door for yourself to be selected to get "the experience" which is more valuable. Though I have no working experience in Java, but have worked in other languages. And it's true whatever you learn from experience, you can't learn with any certificates. But we can see certification as a ladder to start getting experience.

Thanks to all.
Only one short answer question which was regarding String class method's output.
Most of the question length was short. Around 10-12 only with exhibit button (i.e. more than 10-12 lines of code). And the best thing was that, starting questions were not so confusing. Otherwise it may disturb your mind. Thread/GC questions started only after 30-32 which were somewhat confusing.

I am really happy with my result.
Thanks to javaranch, specially Dan, Marcos and javaranch users for sharing their knowledge/problems with others.
Got low score in Garbage collection and Threads as most others.

It's OK but the question is that when you can create a subclass of Number, you can create it without using those two methods. So, it should not be "must" for a subclass of Number. In java classes they have implemented, is right. But what if I create a subclass of Number and I don't want to use those two methods. I can do it without error.....
In java api, for Number class, they have written as follows.
"Subclasses of Number must provide methods to convert the represented numeric value to byte, double, float, int, long, and short. "
But methods byteValue() and shortValue() are not declared 'abstract'. How it's "must" for it's subclasses ?
But,

is not displaying the same value, then why it displays true while comparing ?
It's really an intelligent question. From where did you get it ?
(Anyway, still I couldn't find the way to declare and use outer i in class Class1.)
