Hello All,
I have develped my ConnetionPooling module, but I am having some problems in long run, the problem is I am caching connections in Vector object, the database server later on closes the connection when ther is no activity on connection , leaving my Vector object holding closed connections, how do i prevent it?
I am thinking of closing all the connections in Vector object when they are no longer in use after some specified time.
but that may become performance overhead instead of performance gain, I have seen Frank Carver in same thread but I wonder Frank
will be having same problem also, the cached connection may be closed database server after some time.

Any JDBC guru comment on this ,

Hi all,
Seems u people are very experience in using log4J, I am using log4j for the first time, I have one question in mind, how to get the Logger instance, should I have to do Logger logger=Logger.getLogger(...)in each file or should I initialize it in one file and provide a bean like method to retreive the logger instance where ever in the project it is required

Hi,all
I have configured IMail mail server, and I am sending mail to other users successfully, the problem is in receiving mail, my domain is: nelson.com , it is not registered though, I have created users in Imail server like : abc@nelson.com , david@nelson.com, but the mail didn't receive by any of the users, is it because i have not subscribed nelson.com or thier is another problem?
Is their a way i can receive mail from virtual domain like if my PC name is nelson.com or abc.com, so i can create user (in Immail server) and receive mail from either me@nelson/abc.com.

I am using Win2000, I think its not the platform problem, the entire portion that turn white must be turn into the color of background(pink) rather then white.
Hopes for a good reply that solves my problem.

Hi all,
I am having problem with JTree, i have changed the background tree color to pink and when i expand any tree, it creates a white box equal to the size tree expanded, how should I prevent this so that the background color remains pink.

Thanks Sean and Brogden for reply, my problem is different one, in my case I have a single servlet(ServletController) which is being hit for by all the pages such as "login" or "sendmail" requests. These requests are declared as a hidden variable on form, when a requests comes to ServletController it gets the hidden variable from request and then loads a class corresponding to a servlet and calls its execute method. (for example if request is "sendmail" it loads ACSendMail class and invoke its execute method)this execute method then calls appropriate business class method (BOSendMail.sendMail),
NOW I want the bean to be passed into the business method as a parameter.
Which is empty in my case. I know that bean is populated from form request variables, but I dont want to make a seperate JSP page for populating bean from request. What I want is that when my Servlet Controller is hit , it populates the corresponding bean automatically.

JSP
Hi All,
I am new to Javaranch and this is my first message, It may be very simple for many of you. I am developing web application using 3tier architectutre, I have Beans corresponding to each JSP page, like sendmail.jsp have SendMailBean.java, the problem is that my bean is not getting populated, i have used <jsp:useBean id="bean" class="PBMailBean" scope="session"/>
<jsp:setProperty name="bean" property="*"/>
on my sendmail.jsp page and wants my bean to be populated by the data user enter in form, my bean attributes matches exactly as fields on form, but the bean is not getting populated(setters methods are not being callled), I need this bean to be passed to my BusinessObjects, which is getting null in all beans attributes.
What should I do to get my bean populated.
