Any help in using JuiCE would be appreciated, thanks.

I have juice-java5-0.9.0.jar but do not know how to proceed. Need to use this for encryption.

Is it advisable to change web.xml (or, in fact, any other file) in app server after the deployment? Do ALL app servers expose their deployment/directory structure?

I would prefer making changes locally, re-building the war (or .ear, etc.), and re-deploying the application.

Any suggestions / comments. Thanks.

Need a Java client code for connecting to SDEE server (Cisco IPS) and retrieving alerts.

Want to connect to Cisco IPS and retreive alerts, the response is expected in SDEE format.

Thanks.

There's certainly a performance issue. Cannot execute millions of queries one by one. Please note that the table has a lot of other information that I require when the IP address matches the range.

I have a table holding the range of IP addresses (from and to) and the region. I need to find out the region for the input IP address.
Presently, I am firing a query to get the range - something like SELECT RANGE FROM TABLE WHERE INPUT_IP BETWEEN FROM_IP AND TO_IP.

Now, the table has millions of entries and the input IP addresses count is also pretty big. So it doesn't make sense to fire a query for each input IP address.

Any better way to do this?

Thanks.

It works fine only on Windows platform, but not on others.

If I encrypt a string using some algorithm and javax.crypto API, I cannot decrypt it on Mac. I guess it has something to do with the encoding.
Any solution for this?

Thanks.

Got a requirement to read and process log file incrementally. Any suggestions / ideas to do this in Java?

Need to consider all possible scenarios like file rollover, different logging formats, etc.

Thanks,

1. Create a image object in init() method.
2. In run() method, keep changing coordinates of image (moon lander) after specific interval of time. I mean, either increment / decrement Y coordinates by a pixel to give the effect of image moving up or down. Call repaint() thereafter.
3. In paint() method, just draw the image with the changed coordinates.
Is there a way to improve performance of the java module by utilizing the second processor on a dual processor machine?
To be precise, can I execute two threads and specify exclusively to each one of them which processor (CPU) they should utilize?
How a dual processor machine can be used efficiently to improve the performance of a java application?
